man i have been out of the states for to long, never heard of that game.. I like RPG like, dont laff, EQ har har I was addicted for a long time and finally quit.
I would say that Max Payne and Max Payne 2 are my favorite games of all time. They are third person shooters, and the style is noir. What made the first Max Payne so cool was that a guy named Kenneth Yeung made a mod called the "Kung Fu" edition. Max Payne already had bullet-time, but he added things like the drunken shoot dodges (think the leans like Neo in the first Matrix dodging the bullets on the rooftop) and kung fu combos you could unlock by using the moves you already new. A lot of people also made Matrix conversions and other mods for it.
It was well known for hard-boiled dialogue like:
"Collecting evidence had gotten old a few hundred bullets back. I was already so far beyond the point of no return I couldn't remember what it had looked like when I had passed it."
"When the darkness fell, New York City became something else, any old Sinatra song notwithstanding. Bad things happened in the night, on the streets of that other city. Noir York City. "
and one of my favorites:
"He was trying to buy more sand for his hour glass. I wasn't selling any."
Basically, it's the storyline of man with nothing to lose going after the people who ruined his life. It has cutscenes that look like graphic novel pages, and they are narrated by your character.
Max Payne 2 continued a little bit after the first one, and really didn't have any changes except they made bullet-time even more powerful. Because there were no overall gameplay changes, a lot of people complained it was too short - basically, there was no new learning curve, and you could jump right in. The graphics were better, as was the AI.
