Over the last month I have finished up installing a Hellcat Supercharger on my 2006 300c SRT8. I had the car tuned by Johan, and I am running the Smooth Boost electronic boost controller. The car has the original map sensor along with a hellcat throttle body installed.

The vehicle will drive fine as long as I do not turn the boost dial past half way. If I turn the dial to the 100% configuration and do WOT, the car will takeoff, then when it hits about 3k rpm and 3psi it will cut all power and almost freeze up until I remove my foot from the gas pedal. The ETC (lightning bolt) light will start flashing and continue to flash till I restart the car. After I restart the car, it will not hold an idle while stopped in drive. In most cases it ends with the car stalling out. If I reupload the tune to the car it will go back to working fine again.

My tuner was not super helpful, mainly just saying it is some sort of mechanical issue and that he could not tell what was causing the issue. The boost controller is wired to the apps signal #1 wire (brown, white). I am wondering if I should try wiring it to the throttle body. If you have any suggestions let me know.

It still has a 1 bar map sensor?

Sent from my iPhone using Scat Pack Forums
If that is what comes on the 6.1l cars stock that is what I used. I thought it was a 2 bar, I guess I am not sure. I believe the car would throw a over pressure code if the map was off the chart right? I also thought I would get some direction from the tuner if it was map related. I am all around not sure what is wrong. I can pick up a srt4 sensor today at a parts store and see if it can be tuned that way.

I did know a 2 bar or higher was needed. For some reason I thought the stock 6.1l sensor was a 2 bar map. The map port in the lid was used for my boost gage. I am running the map in the intake runner after boost. I grabbed a new sensor for the neon srt4 I am going to try today with a new tune.

That Hellwagon belongs to my buddy Jerry. He's been a Dodge tech for years and works with Rick at Tapped Performance. He is truly an awesome guy and is very knowledgeable about these cars.

That car is truly bad ass!

Yea I don't think there's any way to use a stock 6.1 map. It just doesn't have the range.
I know I swapped to a STR4 map sensor when I installed my procharger.

Have you reviewed the log of the map sensor yourself? I'm kind of interested in why it wasn't seen in the logs.
I have not viewed the logs myself. After doing all of the labor myself I thought the tuning process would just be me kicking back for awhile. Can you view Diablosport logs for free with their software? I have been eyeing the HP tuners package with the tuning software. The tuning process for this has been a nightmare. The car has not been drivable over half throttle for at least a month now. When I ask questions usually they get ignored. The new SRT4 sensor is in, I am just waiting to see if he will give me another email tune. I honestly do not even know how much boost he is tuning for. He normally just tells me everything looks good, and it is probably just a mechanical issue. I told him I was using the stock MAP, I am not sure why he did not inform me that it was not a 2 bar.

Thank you guys for the help. I believe it did turnout to be the stock MAP causing issues. I was able to get 7psi yesterday without issue. The SRT4 2bar MAP solved the problem for me from what I can tell.
