Looks just like the male end of an extention cord. On the V6 i would guess its on the passenger side on both of them (mine being a 3.5L) On the hemi its on the drivers side.

Our '05 RT has it located between the airbox and the bottle, driver side front. Black "extension cord" with a black plastic cover/cap over the three 120v prongs (your normal male wall plug).

Haven't used it on the Mag yet, but use the one on the Cummins all the time (got it clamped to the passenger tow hook for easy access, actually). Diesel is REALLY cranky when cold, and that truck takes forEVER to build cabin heat if you don't plug it in. Gas motors aren't as sensitive (diesel will gel if it gets too cold, and glow plugs take a loooooong time to glow when cold) so I doubt I'll have to use the Mag's plug anytime soon, unless she starts bitching about not having remote start, LOL. For the truck, if I know I'm driving it in the AM, I plug it in to a timer that turns on at 2am. Usually that gives about 5 hours of heat before running...enough to warm the coolant (the diesel uses an element in a water jacket, to heat the coolant directly) and usually defrost the windshield and hood. And, I have cabin heat before I've hit the end of the street as opposed to the end of the state :)

I installed my block heater myself, very simple to do. Here's a pic of the heater element that goes into the block, drivers side I know its a little strange to look at, but get under there and you'll see the hole. My first attempt was passenger side, after I took off the starter and some kind of sensor, I put it all back and check the other side, much easier. I ran the power cord to the far corner of the engine bay drivers side just behind the headlight, but for winter I like to have it come out the lower grill so I don't have to pop open the hood. I set my Christmas light timer to have it run a couple hours before I leave for work.

It's optional

Cold weather group
Possibly optional in the southern climates. But as I stated above and how it was printed in the '05 sales brochure it was includes.... 'Every Magnum' should be equiped with it. I'll gladly take a photo of the page when i get home tonight from the brochure.

All the RT's had the block heater plug on the drivers side near the air cleaner.
3.5L and I am guessing the 2.7L will have it on the passanger side near the fuse box

I assumed mine didn't have it, but it IS an AWD version that was produced for its first owner in Pennsylvania. Seems like it should be prepped for cold weather. Hmm... I'll have to go take another peek under the hood.

I use mine all the time when it is cold out ( below freezing) as it warms the car up much quicker and and is better for the motor and I leave it plugged in all the time as I do not pay for the power. I have to be out of the house in a hurry with no warning to get to the fire hall at any hour and cannot risk driving with fogged windows and icy glass

hmmm, my build sheet doesnt say anything about a block heater. it does say it was prepped for the detroit area, and there's 2 "customer preferred groups". i know at the dodge site the 06s listed it as a low-cost option.

Yes, it was an option, 'Cold weather' about $40.00. The Magnums I looked at in Minn. didn't all have it but curiously some I looked at in Texas did?! I use mine at work all the time when it's below 35 or so. Takes much less time to warm up, the heater will be throwing off good heat in a few blocks vs a few miles when not plugged in. Oh, if you plug it in the gas mileage is better by about 1 1/2 MPG on my 25 mile drive to work.

(I know this is an old post but.. )

And starting in 2022, the option has disappeared.

No more Engine Block Heater not even in Canada.

It is an option - it is NOT standard.
It was standard equipment in Canada and the MSRP raised to include it.

For Alaska ship-to cars it was a required option and would appear on all window stickers under the optional equipment.

For the rest of the 48, it was totally optional and at last count cost $95.

But now gone for 2022 and 2023 looks the same, the engine block heater as factory installed equipment is no more.
