It finally decided to cool off down here in south florida, it was scheduled for 61 that night so i figured it would be a nice night to head to the strip. I had been dying to go since I installed my new C&L intake and Diablo with the 93/CAI tune, i ended up running a new best time of 14.068. The first time i ran my Mag in december it was dead stock excluding my suspension mods and ran a fastest of 14.249.

I was trying my butt off to get in the 13's but i couldnt get my 60 ft down. managed a 2.179 when i ran my 14.068 and i know i should be able to bring that down by at least a 1/2 second to a second max and then i will see some new numbers.

I just thought i would share my new time because im pretty happy about it. anyways, enjoy.

Feels good to get quicker! Here's a couple tricks that might just get you to 13's. First try some octane booster, I like NOS brand. Next get an Igloo cooler partly full of crushed ice and keep your intake manifold and fuel rails covered, take off the engine cover to do this, btw. Next try different techniques to launch, keep attacking that 60' time. Try powerbraking to 1800 rpms if you have stock converter, try a soft launch, try stabbing it, etc. Even try different pressures, usually street tires have the best traction at higher pressures like 40 psi, drag radials more like 18-22 psi. BTW as temp goes down you get more power, but below 60F or so traction starts to go south. I was driving my 4X4 Hemi Ram the other night at -20F and the roads were clear, but it would spin as if it were on ice, even in 4wd.

Congrats on the new best time man, we did sorta the same thing last Saturday night. We have a stock 300C, installed the Predator plus a new intake since our previous best and our time dropped considerably. I know how you feel on that 13 sec run thing, I used to feel the same way until last weekend. As Formerice points out there are several "tricks" to launching these cars. I've found for our car that, 1000-1200 rpm launch seems to be the best. Every car is just a little different and of course weather plays such a huge factor in how well we all run.
Good luck as you persue that next best run. :racing:

Congrats on the new best time. Get you 60' times down to the 2.0's and you definitely be in the 13's. It's supposed to be cold again this Wednesday. I'm going to try a couple a small changes and see if helps. Maybe I'll see you there.

MadMag you need to get the coolant tmep down too. If you have nto installed the 180 t-stat that will along with the other suggestions from the other members here. The icing down of the intake and fuel rails helps really does help. Wifeys daytona has the C&L and even icing it down. We have also covered the C&L with a cheap wrap that help a little cause that aluminum does get alittle warm from thefans blowing on it. Ours ran 13.5 with good cool air Rear RSA's down to 28 the above suggestions on the 93 tune. Resonaters off also. It can be done
