Just got assigned to Heidelberg, Germany!!!:beerchug:
My baby (R/T) has been on the boat for the last 3 weeks and I am looking foward to opening her up on Autobahn!!!
:magburno:
Will I need to load a European GPS CD for navigation or should the current CD be sufficiently loaded with all the maps? My instincts tell me I will need another CD, but where could I buy it? If I go to the German dealership, I am afraid that the voice prompts will all be in Deutsch (German). Any help, is greatly appreciated.

Hey Nathan, enjoy your time in Germany! Watch the last turn in from Mannheim to Heidelberg. I was going to the hospital with my wife in hard labor in 1980 in our Rroadrunner and took that last curve a bit hot, at the time it turned to coble stone at the end of the autobahn (I presume it has been updated), it was 11:30pm and a heavy dew had fallen, RR had full posi, we skittered for 300 meters!! The Polizei were at the first intersection. They came in close with the blue lights blazing, I continued to the hospital with my four way flashers on. They helped my wife into the hospital, thanked me for NOT wrecking my car and went on their way.

There's a guy on here that bought his mag in germany at on base sales, you need to search that dude out and ask him which disk he's got and if it is a continent specific disk, if it's speakin' engrishy or not, hopefully he sees this thread...good ol' germany, I loved that crazy place

This sounds like a question for good ol' Dr. Z

On another note have fun on the autobahn and I Agree you need the flashpaq w/ z-rated tires... then you'll have some real fun

Man, I didn't even think of those....get some standard power adders too!!! Headers back exhaust, a CAI, and the flashpaq and z tires like everybody else said!!!

And if you're going to be doing autobahn speeds all the time like I did, maybe some slotted rotors and a higher temp brake fluid....stopping the tank at those speeds is more important then getting up to those speeds!!!

You're going on the Autobahn? #1 priority should be a Flashpaq to remove the speed limiter, and Z rated tires!

Have fun!

Hey, thanks guys for tips!! Can I order the flashpaq online? What's it run ($)? I have the upgraded rotors and the z's already on it. I have a feeling once one of those BMW or Mercedes wagons blow my doors off, I'll be making a lot more power adds. But BMWDON, you are sooooooo right, stopping at those speeds is defintely more important that getting up to them. Thanks again, and keep your ears open for the European GPS CD.

Are you 100% positive? Seems like all he would need is a new DVD

1. Don't park on the road up to the castle even if it is liined with cars that have German plates. It's a no prtking zone and when you come out only you and your parking ticket will be there...
2. Learn some German... it's a college town;)

Lesson # 352: No matter how fast you drive on the autobahn, someone will always have a faster car.

Seriously though, I was in Germany for almost a month, had a Range Rover, was going about 165 mph passing someone, a mercedes came up on me fast, headlights flashing and horn honking, got back in the other lane as soon as I could, he disappeared as if I was standing still. ONLY use the far left lane for passing, do not drive in it.

there was just a thread about it... whereas the us version is the REC, the overseas is the REJ or something similar... the dvd's aren't cross-compatible, because other things like the in-motion restrictions are burned onto the map disc.

I have a alpine Navigation unit for sale. It can only be used overseas. I bought it when i was stationed in the UK. Italy, Germany, England, all will work. It has a english voice also. pm me for a pic and specs. I can't use it in the states so I'll let it go for 350.00 shipped.
