It became clear to me that not everyone knows about us and what we are doing from another thread here. So we decided to write something up here.
The valve body and tune is a combo at 850.00. Plus a 100.00 core. Tunes are for your TCM but we can supply a tuned TCM for an additional price if you do not want any down time.
Our valve body is really a game changer for these transmissions. We have been running them in many cars successfully now for 3 years now. It started in Troy's personal car racing and using his original 30k mile transmission with it and running many 10.0 passes. It would spin the tires going into 4th at the track. Our real true test came in the Jeep that Troy runs and we put a basically stock transmission in it with the valve body and ran into the mid to upper 9s in the quarter mile. This was not a one time glory pass but rather the end of a year of many passes below the 10.5 mark.
I say basically stock because we had gone through it and put thicker snap rings in to tighten up clearances. This does not increase the holding capacity of the transmission but rather just speeds up the response time of the shifts. So not extra clutches or custom parts of any kind were put in it. That transmission broke the input shaft and twisted the output shaft before wearing out a clutch pack.
Since then we have all but stopped building up transmissions for our clients and simply sell the valve body and a tune to match. I also have customers running these in standalone tcu applications deep into the 9s with an off the shelf dealer remanufactured transmission.
The tune is absolutely a must. Other tunes for other valve bodies do not work with it. Especially tunes for more aggressive shifts on stock valve bodies. It will be so violent that it will break things. Also tq management and the correct tq tables in your ECU. We can provide information on how things need to be setup.
Troy has the tune so dialed in the Jeep you would think it was stock when driving it around town.
Basically we have found that until you are snapping the input shaft off you can run a stock transmission and still have a nice daily driver as well.
You have to have a good healthy transmission. This will not make a worn out transmission work. This is a formula. If you do not follow the formula it will not work well. Some cars depending on the setup require additional tuning. Custom tuning is also available at an additional rate. We can tune for other transmission setups other than stock as well.
Please feel free to ask questions and Troy is your contact for sales and support at Dings. 360-695-6030. Or PM him from here. We have them in stock and ready to ship.

Thank you.

We have seen different engine tunes that have caused a wide range of issues. Nothing that we cannot get resolved but it takes some back and forth. To be honest we are not sure what the issue is. The 1st one we had here and we went through everything thinking that there was an issue with the transmission or valve body. It just shifted soft. We actually swapped the valve body and removed the transmission thinking there was something wrong with it. There have been a couple since that were similar. We had to adjust the tcu tune quite a bit to get it right. I am guessing that the engine tune has something off in it that makes the calculated torque value very low. There are a lot of ways to cause issues while tuning engines that can mess up other stuff even though the engine is running well.

So do you work on the engine tune and TCM tune to get everything just right?

BTW if you are wondering where they are:
Google Maps
East of seattle in what looks like a very beautiful place.

I have been working around ecm tune with changes with the tcm tune when we come up with these odd reactions.
It just takes a few changes to smooth out some of the these problems that seem to pop up now and then.

Left a voicemail for Troy last month and didn't get a return call. I know everyone gets busy and misses a call now and then. Best time to call and not have to leave a message?
Currently running a Paramount VB. Tuner laughed at me for putting those in both my vehicles. He has put a dozen SHR units into his other customers cars and wants to go that direction in mine. He's interested in knowing if you use HP Tuners on these. Can you adjust part throttle downshifting or upshift rpm? Thanks, Mike

Whipplem104 Is there an email address I can get so I can send him a rundown on what I've got and want to achieve and why I wasn't happy with the Paramount parts? That way Troy could think about it and call me back at his convenience? Feel free to PM me back if you like.

This is what I gathered from a brief phone conversation with Troy.
A tuned TCM is needed to have the benefits of the valve body, and it would make more sense to flash a stock TCM rather than overwrite the MTCM.

If you purchase a TCM from them is it tuned already? Or do You have to purchase it and then pay for a tune separately? The cost is adding up over there

The way I understood it is that you purchase the valvle body for $500 and the tune for $400 and load it yourself with HPtuners. If you aren't set up to use HP they will work with you on exchanging TCM's through the mail or by shipping. I also ran across a package that included valve body, tuning, and torque converter for $1350. I didn't ask about core charges or the prices on shipping.

Out of curiosity, what sort of power in a daily driver situation have you guys had on this set up? What stall converter? I'm thinking eventually of being in the 500whp-600whp land, daily driver type. Curious about survivability and longevity like this with frequent trips down the quarter mile on drag tires and daily driver duties. Thanks!

I'm just researching right now. Probably a year or more before I'm doing anything like this.
