The p0128 - do you have a 180* t-stat? If so it is possible that the cats and motor did not warm up fast enough. Very common with the lower temp t-stat. You might want to see if the car is getting hotter than normal or cooler than normal. The t-stat is located on the engine where the upper hose connects to the engine.

Not sure on B1638

Bon jour, Geoff,

The P0128 coolant temp code is okay to drive with. The engine didn't reach proper temperature when the computer expected it to. You probably need a new thermostat (located at the engine-end of the upper radiator hose).

B1638 code: I found this explanation at the following site http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/obd-ii-b-body-codes.php

B1638 Mirror Driver Right Short To Ground

Since our driver side mirrors are on the left, I'm not really sure what that means except that there is apparently a problem with one of your electric mirrors.

I searched the forums some more and found this regarding the B1638 code:

http://www.lxforums.com/board/showpost.php?p=714122&postcount=2

Code......06 Service Manual Page

B1634-LEFT HI BEAM CONTROL CIRCUIT
HIGH . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .8L-11
B1638-RIGHT HI BEAM CONTROL
CIRCUIT HIGH. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .8L-15

So looks like there could be a problem with one of the headlight high beams?

P0128-THERMOSTAT RATIONALITY
si ton thermostat est original, va faloir le remplacer. il y a un link pour video pour changer le thermostat dans ce thread: http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=32989

B1638-RIGHT HI BEAM CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH
le FCM (front control module) a detecter un short au voltage sur le circuit du phare (hi-beam) droit. je disconnect la battery pour 15 secondes pour effacer le code et verifier si il reviens.

if you are using OE thermostat, you'll need to replace it. in this thread there is a link to a change out video: http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=32989

B1638-RIGHT HI BEAM CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH
the FCM has detected a short to voltage in the right hi beam control circuit. i'd try disconnecting the battery for 15 seconds to erase the code and see if it returns.

howzat?
