This is an early heads up. Cowtown Mopars will be holding it's annual car show at Moritz Chrysler/Jeep on April 19th, 2008. We will be more than happy to creat an LX specific class if we get the participation. Moritz is located on Highway 80 at 820W in Fort Worth.

Also, we will be having an ALL MOPAR racing event to be held at Texas Motorplex (Ennis) on May 10th. Presently there are three index classes planned, but are open to creating platform or vehicle specific classes if we can get the participation. I think an LX race class would be great!! We need to have 16 cars to make it viable.....do you think you can do it??

It is my sincere hope that we can start including the modern muscle in our events, but you guys and girls need to show up to be recognized!!!

Well, as of right now for the car show we have a "Late Model RWD" class. Technically this would have anything after 1980, but the only cars we've had in this class have been LX cars. (The only post-1980 RWD cars built were Diplomats and New Yorkers up to 1989).

There was a delay in the meetings with the track due to things beyond anyone's control. Hopefully we'll have hard facts to report in a week or two.

I will post an update on the race situation when I get home this morning.

We are seeking sponsors to put up the cash for the class winners. We already have one, and are looking or more. For those around here, does anyone in the LX world know of any related businesses that might be interested in sponsoring an LX race class? I haven't talked to our race coordinator about it, but I think it would be cool to be able to push cash awards up for the winners in your class, instead of just racing for bragging rights.

An LX class would most likely be a bracket class. So yes, a 2.7L Magnum could race an SRT300 and win. At our Denton race, a 12 second '75 Charger won the street class, beating out several 8 second cars....it's all a matter of consistency.
