Was on my way home tonight going North on Hwy #10.
Up from the rear I can see the tell-tale headlights of a 1990 Mustang
I can hear the motor a long way away, and it was easy to tell that this pony was a thoroughbred. A very dep grumble indeed.
He gets along side and gives me the thumbs up, I return in favor. His car is bright Yellow, nice rims, and other than that "looks" very stock except for a little airbrush work on the rear quarter that read "11 seconds".
We get stopped at the lights at Bovaird Dr. He shouts over his engine "That thing looks really mean!" I again give the thumbs-up because I knew he wouldn't be able to hear me over the lopy idle of his car.
We both take off from the lights, I'll say rapidly. Not racing just a fair push away from the stop.
This stretch of road is an 80 zone, 2 lanes each way and was pretty deserted. We played a little giving a little gas here and there. Not racing just a little fun.
We got to the next light just as it was turning green and had already slowed down considerably, he goosed it a little from about 40 and I followed suit, and stayed right beside him, but I could tell he wasn't even trying. By this time he and his passenger were smiling from ear to ear and laughing loudly. We both let off long before reaching any crazy speeds, and he let me in front of him.
Got to the next intersection where I turn to go home, and he turned the same direction.
About 100 feet after the corner he popped out from behind be and in less than 2 seconds was about 2 cars ahead. This Stang was indeed FAST!!
He pulled in to the local Timmy's, and into the drive thru. I pulled in right behind him, to grab a coffee as well.
We waited in the lineup at the drive thru, all the while I could hear the rumbling of what was obviously a very big motor in that car of his.
I finally get to the window to pick up my coffee, and the girl hands it to me and says "He paid for you" motioning towards the drive thru exit.
Before I got to the exit and turned, the Stang was already on the street. He made a right turn, going back where we had just came from and I heard him give it a little squeeze, and he was gone.
That was fun, but never even got the chance to talk to the guy. They were what looked to be a late 30's couple.
Really would have liked to have known what he had under the hood.
