please forgive me if this has been addressed before. i did take the time to look for the answer, however no luck as of yet:

im looking for better cornering. sometimes the car feels like its floating if i take a corner too fast. i plan to go with 20inch rims with a good tire,(im waiting until after winter here in Maryland) and i was looking at lowering springs. question:

can i use the factory shocks/struts without a problem? thanks for the feedback!!!:beerchug:

While the 20's look great, they actually handle a little worse than the 18's or 17's with descent tires. The extra unsprung weight works your struts much more and the centrifigal force of the heavier wheel/tire assembly affects handling in a negative way. Try changing out your sway bars or springs if you want better handling. You can even lower it and notice a big improvement in hanling. While the factory suspension is good, it is designed to appeal to a wide variety of road manners for many different butts. Maybe some of the rodders that have lowered and or added 20's will chime in and relate thier experiences.

I have yet to read any negative feedback from anyone who has actually installed 20's. I love mine and am not looking forward to putting my 18's back on for winter.
Here is a link to alot of good info on suspension from someone who has done most of the suspension choices available.

Few people reported burning out their stock shocks after putting on lowering springs because of the reduced travel. General concensus is to go with coilovers or aftermarket shocks like the eibach's.
