Charger Swinger

Am I missing something with Dodges Charger Swinger Edition? As a a past owner of a 1969 Dart Swinger 340 when they came out, what possessed Dodge to come out with a say goodbye edition with a Charger Swinger Edition. The Charger was NEVER a Swinger and the Swinger was NEVER a Charger!! For me the iconic Swinger stripe just looks completely lame and out of place on the Charger. Don’t even get me started on the shinny wheels……….hub caps for a poor man’s muscle car (under rated) was what the 340 Swinger was all about. Why have last call on something that NEVER existed! Well that’s my rant for today. LOL

By that logic the Demon was a Dart and never a Challenger, soooo.......? 🤷‍♂️

YUP…….My 71 Challenger (below) was NOTHING like a 71 Demon! There was no logic at all to call the Challenger Demon a Demon. They should have at least given it a new name, ……a Challenger ***. At least the people that rebadge their cars now to look like a higher end model stick to the same model vehicle.

I guess in the days where Mustangs are eSUV’s and Mavericks are light pickups, all bets are off!
How far down this rabbit hole you wanna go lol? We could bring up the fact that you are driving a 4 door Charger; no Charger prior to 2006 was ever a 4 door so it could be said you don't have a real "Charger" lol....

You are absolutely right, mines not a real Charger I guess. No stock Charger prior to 2006 was ever a 4 door sedan or ever ran under 13 sec.
PLUS: Regardless of changes to body style. My 340 “SWINGER” was on a Dodge Dart body…………..a ”Swinger” edition or badging was never used on any Charger ever built. Until 2023………..Owning both, I still think the iconic “Swinger” stripe on a Charger is just wrong, both in looks and historic value……..IMHO anyway
