My hefty deposit is in. So hopefully it will be released soon. It will be a one person install (me) and I'll be happy to post my findings if anyone is interested.
Sure. I'll include pics at key points in the install and point out any issues. Thanks MicroChipEngineer. Gunna put it in a new thread with a clear and obvious title I hope? *grin*
Has anyone on the forum PURCHASED and installed one of these yet????
Hello AmbeR/T. That kit never made it to it's rightful owner. It's turning into a very expensive lesson for me... A $6200 lesson. The lack has been due to them being very busy. The first customer install was just performed this week on a 06 Charger. The 2nd kit shipped out to it's rightful owner. The kits are finished and ready to go.. He is just finishing off the Instruction manual.
As for the Predator.. Not sure what they can change or control either. We will have to wait and see
I hear you. But Kevin has been keeping me up to date with the kit progress. I have simply chosen to keep quiet until I have the complete turbo kit in hand. There have been some changes similar to what the CIS guys have encountered. In the meantime, I'm trying to be patient with this guy :blam:. I'm hoping to start cranking with with this guy sometime soon :racing:.screw that... I would get 100% money back from this kit asap...
let someone else be the 2nd person with a kit and wait til they can make at least a kit every 6 months...
I see that you were online instead of at Rick and Ronnies Meet and Greet. I was hoping to show you guys some of the kit.Well I am extremely happy for you. It looks pretty good.
Can't wait til you get it installed and hear how this kit is.
You're right on. The PCM is already coded for boost. I can only speculate why. The stock sensor does not sense boost. So it will get replaced. Kevin was researching it at the time we spoke. He will probably replace it with one from a neon srt4.so I take it that Kevin's gonna become a CMR tuner as well? Good news. Are they sure that the stock MAP sensor can read boost? I would think they need to send a different map sensor.. Apparently the stock PCM can read boost but doesn't have a fuel map to correspond with it yet.. and the map sensor likely only reads vacuum.. even a 1 bar (14psi) map sensor would do the trick..
This is gonna be really sweet if you can do all this without the need for a piggyback!
Have you given any thought to doing some methanol injection to bring down the temps? You may want to take a look at the snow performance boost cooler.. probably just a stage 1 as you can't do high boost on these engines..
Let us know every step of the way.. this is interesting to a bunch of us..
My timeline is ASAP. I really don't know when the tuning will be finished until Kevin has the software in his hands. I'm just taking alot of :chill: pills and hanging in there.Yeah I was at the dealer today getting some little stuff done and couldn't make it down there...
I am glad to hear about your kit...
Do you have a timeline when you might have it done???
Yeap, it taps into the washer fluid. Are you near to Cartuning?Sure it can be tuned safely, but if you include the methanol injection to prevent detonation, you can likely advance the timing a bit more and get more power without increasing the risk of doing so... I think the PCM is the same that is used in the SRT4's hence the code and fuel maps for boost..
I guess I didn't see it as I was looking for the big 7qt jug you will have to stash under the hood somewhere.. unless you are going to tap right into the windshield washer jug that is already there and run winter washer fluid all the time.
You're so right about that. Fortunately, I do all the work myself. Dealers and Quik'E lube places will find the grimiest (probably recycled) water possible to fill it with.I am probably about an hour from them... They are in/near Toronto.. I am about 30 miles from Toronto or so.
You have to remember to NEVER use the summer washer fluid.. you can use washer fluid, but only the winter stuff.. and put something to keep someone else from filling it with something else.. that would suck spraying in the summer bug dissolving solution into your engine..
Sorry, no positive updates yet. Kevin just received the CMR software when I spoke to him last Monday. However, I have not been able to get any updates since then. His wife was due with their first child at the same time. So I suspect this may be delayed even more.any updates on the install???
