A week ago, I thought that I put it into limp mode because I hit the gas before shifting the car into Drive. First the lights went out, the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, ran really rough, clunked when shifted into reverse, etc. Then after pulling fuse 11 all was well again.

This last weekend Maddog & I successfully installed Paddle Shifters, they work perfect! The car drove fine until yesterday. The "ESP-BAS" light flashed on and off within 10 minutes, so I pulled the fuse 11, took it for a hard drive with no problems. This morning it started, but the lights didn't come on, and I had the CEL light, ESP-BAS light etc. Turned it off, pulled the fuse - then it wouldn't start. Then put the stock tune back in, and cleared the codes with the predator, still didn't start. At this point all the codes came back. I pulled fuse 11, and it started but I still had these codes:

DTC P0645 Air Conditioning (A/C) Clutch Relay Control
DTC P0481 Cooling Fan Relay 2 Control Circuit

So, I pulled fuse 11 again for over three minutes, & this time got rid of all the codes. The cars seems to run fine now with no CEL's or codes.

Keep in mind that there were 5 different codes coming up in the predator, 2 of which were unknown.

I drove this car from Portand to Seattle after the Paddle Shifter's were installed with no problems. Since this was an issue before the install, it's logical to believe that the Paddle Shifters are unrelated.

Who thinks that I have a BAD Front control Module (FCM)?

Driving with the stock tune today, it's not giving me any problems... who knows...

I thought that Mr. I had similar issues before his FCM went out.

The Predator should still know at least the numbers though, no? It told me P1417 was unknown but I found it here...

you seem to be a fuse 11 pullin' maniac. all it does is power down the PCM. it won't do anything for ESP/BAS. since it's running OK now, i'd just leave the stock tune in it for a week to make sure. if it doesn't act up in a week try your performance tune.
i doubt the FCM is causing this. possibly a loose connection somewhere.

my failed FCM rendered the car undrivable.. it wouldn't start.

and the diablo was unable to connect to the PCM as the FCM is the gateway to the network, it has to connect to the FCM first.

as I stated in PM, just adding here so anyone else experiencing this has some reference..

since you disconnected the battery during the paddle install, you need to recalibrate the steering angle sensor.

i've done six paddle installs and all of them required this after the install..

in addition, double check the connector behind the column, it has connections from the SCM to the CCN and the car will not start if the CCN (cluster) is not connected and it will die and throw a grip of codes if it becomes disconnected while driving..

also,

the diablo can only pull drive-train codes, it won't have any info on Chrysler Canbus specific codes which you can only pull from the Star Scan (things like the CCN becoming disconnected from the network)

Thanks guys, one last thing...I had trouble getting the SCM back on the steering column; the clockspring popped out and had to be re-seated or plugged in. Everything fit where it was supposed to & looked fine. Recalibrated the steering angle sensor this afternoon. I'm tempted to take the airbag out and make sure that the SCM is plugged properly into the CCN. The perplexing thing is that I went into limp mode a week ago for the first time, but I'm pretty sure that was because I torque shocked the tranny.

the clockspring is for airbag squibs and steering wheel mounted switch functions. the steering angle sensor circuits don't go through the clockspring.
as Mr. i said, possible SCM docking connector issue.
understood Pete, BUT

since they are disconnecting the battery and in my case I started the cars with no airbag, no steering wheel, and the clock spring disconnected to test the shifter connection,, the canbus got all hanky and the star scan showed me that the Steering Angle Sensor needed calibration on every car I did..

so it stands to reason, it has to be done to make HAL happy,

and the SCM docking connector is a big issue, remember I had that ongoing issue with mine disconnection everytime I used the telescoping steering wheel, so I am aware of what happens everytime it disconnects.
