I still can't believe I sold her, but at the time she was worth more as a down payment on a house then a car that rarely saw the light of day. Everyday since I have doubted my move. She was spotless, and drew a ton of attention at the shows. I miss her like the love of my life that I let get away.

I know the feeling far too well. But sometimes we do what we need to do.

Did you keep *something* of her? I kept the center steering wheel cap. I like to believe the soul came with that cap. One day...

I already traded up from that house. Hey gang, I am going to post some other pages of my scrap book that show some of my past cars. I have had too many that I should not have sold. Hmmmm let's see My first car 64 Cuda, 66 Cornet 440 convertable, 72 Pro Bracket Nova SS, I could go on and on.

I sold a 65 GTO with a 421, hurst 4 speed, 411 rear end in the same condition as your z/28.
It help pay for my FARM and don`t regret it at all. I miss that car but it did not handle like my R/T does.If i had to do again i would do it.

Nice list of rides there. I think I would have shed a tear giving up that camaro.

Yet another one that got away! I am still looking for the 70 AAR Cuda my father had to sell shortly after I was born in 77 (for $1200). I have the VIN memorized and if I ever do find it I will do whatever necessary to bring it back home!

I've done the same thing , 67 RS/SS , 68 RS/SS 396 , a 70 LS-6 4spd Chevelle SS, just to name a few, I have very fond memories of them, but I look at the time I did it and always come back to it was the right thing to do at the time....the responsible thing...as someone else said.
Be glad that you have pics, as many of my cars, the pics are long gone, just the mental ones still there.
Enjoy your house, your family, but remember where she got you.

Good luck with your house

Beautiful car.... Im a huge old Camaro buff. 1969 RS/SS would be my choice if I could have any of em though. Being a bit younger, I too often hear stories from people who sold cars for so cheap that are now worth a ton of money. Granted, no one knew that at the time, but its still sad to think about what a gem you might have had if you never sold it.

Makes me wonder about two things:

1) Will I be saying that to myself someday about my car now? (I sure hope not...)

2) All I ever hear is "I sold this car... and I regret it." I never hear the other guy's story who caught the good deal and still has that beautiful car sitting in his garage!

Well how is this............I bought her for $7,000 from a Dealership. As a matter of fact, I was the first private owner. Her first 20 years, she went from dealership owner to dealership owner starting in ST. Louis, and ending in Seattle.
