Just wondering what everyone else's result has been after getting the new rotors? Unlike SRT's claims, my brake dust is a horrible as ever. It's taken a while to realize this because they didn't clean my car after the service, but after doing a super detail last week and only driving it one day since my wheels are black again.

it has nothing to do with the rotors...
the brake dust that is...
you need the c-tek brake pads if you want no or little dust...
as for where to find them...
try brakewarehouse.com
and with the new rotors...
expect some brake dust with the non-brake dust pads (c-teks)...
but no where near what you are experiencing now...

the rotor tsb was for the uneven, grooving wear...
and only the grooving...
no brake dust issue...

but brake pads are not my specialty by choice...

I agree. I have the slotted rotors and the c-tek pads. The dust is nearly eliminated with these pads and my wheels are happily clean.

Some have noted that this pad is not as high performance as the stocks, due to a lower coefficient of friction. In reality, however, since the surface area of the pads are the same, increased pedal pressure will yield the same brake torque and stopping distances.

Personally, I've been pleased with the performance but there is another pad recently released called posi-quiets that are listed as higher performance. Either way, the pads are a great mod.

I got the pads from Zeckhausen.com. Brakewarehouse was out of stock.

as zeckenhausen prices are double the cost...
but I don't knwo anything about pads...

Sounds like you did not bed your brakes.

I had mine replaced and I have reduced my dust by about 90% I would say. Do remember that the CTek pads do not work as well and you will lose some of your stopping power.

Me... I'd rather have brakes that work as intended and clean a little dust off every now and then.

I also had my dealer swap out the pads so that I had all new components matched up. I bedded them immediately, and mine are terrific.

Why would anyone go to brakewarehouse for replacement pads? You can buy a full set of the SRT-8 Posi-Quiet pads (the good ones - C-104, rather than the C-Tek C-102's that have less friction) for only $85 + $15 shipping on eBay at this link.

Brakewarehouse will charge much more for these pads, so why go there?

do you have the 104's yet?
as for the original posters post...
he is concerned with brake dust - thus the 102's...
add stopping power like some of us want...
then 104's are the way to go.
keep churning the butter...

I called Rotorworks (the seller in that eBay auction) to see if I could puchase just the front pads (Posi-Quiet #104.11490), as I already have the 104s in the rear. They said that they didn't have them in stock. When I mentioned that they are selling those pads now in an auction, the person on the phone sounded confused. They did promise to check & email me. Here is their email:

Did anyone actually buy them from Rotorworks?

I know k9eros and he will want stopping power as well as less dust... the 104's will work great in this application for his CHSRT-8, and he can buy them for much less money than the 102's that might or might not yet be available from our friends at brakewarehouse.

You should be happy that someone found a lower price and is willing to share it with the community, Chris. You just might want to get a set of these pads for yourself, since you can't find a better price anywhere. Please don't bother to thank me...

Yes the rears are 106s (ext. wear)
I have to say changing these were a joy - once the wheels were off it literally takes about 2 minutes to change - (easier than the old '69 vette I had). So far the lack of dust is impressive and they stop very well.

Here are the ratings on the fronts (104s):

Without a doubt I am not willing to give up any braking performance. Yes, I bedded the brakes on the ride home from the dealers after getting the new rotors. They would not replace the pads since I had less than 500 miles and they said the pads were fine.

I missed the part about them being the slotted ones. While I assume that's the case, you don't say "slotted" anywhere....

So help a moron out... They are the slotted ones? I got new rotors as well, but before the slotted came out. I'll be getting slotted ones next.

I got the new rotors along w new pads and there is a noticable reduction in dust, it is still there, but the buildup is slower.

the irony of this post...
is that is exactly what I tried to do somewhere else...
and now you are doing it over here...
hypocrisy at its best...
thanks for finally realizing its not about the vendors, but about the members...
and stop with the personal shots via overemphasized suggestions...
it really is getting old...

I got the c-teks, and see absolutly no difference in performance.

great info 70GT6!
so we can do a comparison of the C-tek 102's vs. the above...
does anyone have the chart for the 102's?
Good stuff guys.
Really good.
