Has anybody experienced the brake pedal click when pressing the brake? it happens about every other time i brake. i can actually hear it.
I haven't taken a look to see IF something may be loose. Is this normal? I don't remember this happening when I first got the Magnum back in January, and my Dakota R/T doesn't do it. Any Ideas?
thanks.

Does it sound like an electrical switch triggering a relay? Or more of a mechanical sound?

well never really thought about that but....almost electrical switch, kinda like those scripto click type lighter. i have pushed it with my hand also and can feel it, but it does not affect the braking and there are no MIL lights.
thanks

I have noticed it when the car is off but the key in the ignition.
And after the car starts it may do it one time on the first brake push and then silent. Almost like a relay gets energized when the car is on. I wondered if it had something to do with the brake interlock. But I got distracted (easily done) and have not thought about it for a while.

Mine does it too- just started to do it a bunch lately. Mine has metal "twang" just as you start to apply pressure. Sounds like the metal arm the pedal is on is making the noise.

Mine does. I can FEEL it in the pedal too. I haven't made it an issue with the dealer yet, but I plan to. Almost feels like the pedal is loose and shifting position.

I've had this problem forever. I've had it in to the dealer twice now; each time they cannot reproduce it. And, of course, I cant get it to happen on a road test, but sure as shiznit I'll drop the tech off and pull outta the parking lot only to hear (and feel) the pop.

fnky, I've tried to crawl in there and grease everything up. But, I guess I'm just missing it. Is there any other detail of the specific area; maybe a pic?

sorry CV, i don't have a pic. you just need a tube of lithium grease (lubriplate), you may have to borrow someone's small hand and get the grease all over the return spring especially at the contact points and between each coil. work it in there by pumping the pedal till the noise goes away. haven't had to repeat this on any car i've done.

Well isn't this interesting. I was driving down the street with the windows down a couple of days ago and noticed this for the first time... and I have replaced the calipers and rotors and lines with a big brake kit. Same thing you guys are describing. A metallic click that occurs maybe every other time.

so I'm not the only one...

Not noticeable unless I have the windows down and I am hammering the brakes. Not something I have been looking for since, either.
