I saw these on a episode of "Pimp My Ride" They look interesting. It looked as though they installed pretty easy and worked nice. Of course you have to ask yourself, what happens if I lose power and the car is locked.
Old timey hotrod guys have been using electric doors for years. The smart ones hide a mechanical lock or a positive battery post somewhere under the car so they can't get locked out.
I know about all the concerns when dealing with shaved doorhandles, and am prepared to make some sort of an 'emergency' plan on how to get in. I'm mostly interested in these because they may be a cheaper alternative to having all the metal and paint work done like with traditional shaving. Plus, theyre pretty cool.... As long as they are a quality product that isnt going to fail on me.
I think they ended up removing these from that Magnum because of the problems. I went with the old style 40lb pull silenoid with the 7 channel control network from Spal.
