Appcar DiagFCA

I picked up a 2007 MSRT PCM for my 6.1 swap. I have not yet pulled the 5.7 engine or PCM out, but when I do the swap can I just install the 6.1 PCM, hook up the Appcar, and rewrite the car's VIN into the new 6.1 PCM? Is it that straightforward?
(I am aware that I can just have the 5.7 PCM retuned for 6.1 but want to keep that PCM with the 5.7 for a future project)

yo im doing a 6.1 swap did you ever get the vin swap done
Yes, I did. If possible, think you are better off putting a 6.1 tune into your original ECU than swapping ECU to 6.1. The ABS module does not like seeing “6.1” in ECU and generates “implausible information” code and ABS and traction control lights stay on.

Did the car have any other issue did it run fine with all those abs codes and what not? and also you used appcar to change the vin yourself or what did you do to go about the situation
The car ran and still runs fine with the ABS mismatch. Some if the details of this saga are found here: https://www.lxforums.com/threads/swap-related-abs-lights-on-u140e-help.423401/
On that thread I was running original 5.7 ECU but had someone change Calibration ID to make smog inspector happy. I ended up putting a same-year MSRT ECU and used either Appcar or AlphaOBD to change vin myself (sorry i dont remember which and exact procedure, it was a year ago). Still had dash lights but ran fine so turned off all of the ABS, ESP. Still need to dig back into this but burned out on it.
