I am going to look at purchasing a '99 Polaris 700XC tomorrow. It seems to be in great shape. Are there any known problems with the model sled? I have a friend pushing me towards a '99 Ski Doo MXZ 670HO also and I am questioning which way to go. I haven't looked at sleds for about 15 years and lots has changed since then. Any advise?

Although this Cat is very sweet I believe it is going to be priced a bit higher then the $2K I am looking to spend. Thanks for the conversation piece though!

I weigh over 300 pounds with gear on, my '97 MXZ 670 (bored to max Wiseco and ported) does 0-60 in 3 seconds flat. I can run wide open over 6' drifts having a blast and it will ask for MORE. I have the heaviest racing manual springs and lowered rear carraige with AD Boivin links. It is the first sled I have ever been on that LANDS well!

Go with a real sled, Ski Doo all the way!!

That is great to hear! I think I may be picking the MXZ up tonight. The owner of the 700XC has reconsidered the sale of his toy. I will post pics if the blizzard expected near Chicago does not prevent me from getting out. How much would that suck? "I have to delay the picking up of my sled due to heavy snow fall!!!!" :banghead:

I rode a lot in high school & never touched one again for 35 years. I went from a 295cc single cyl. Panther to a ZR600, holy crap they have come a long way. Good luck with the sled & stay safe.

im a polaris kind of guy myself..... with the xc your going to get a lot better ride.

as far as power goes most people cant ride any where close to what their sled can do anyways. i couldnt tell you how many times i would hear guys saying i need at least 800cc's to ride :blah:.... wouldnt ride anything smaller:blah:.... we hit the trail and they cant even keep up with a easy pace with my little proX 600

man i miss that sled

I had a Formula Z 670 in the last year before the rev chassis came out, I believe it was a '99. the thing had more motor then you will ever need, Man, rotax can make one heck of a motor. but it had what they called a A.R.M. rear suspension, which is good if you are light and do not ride hard. but if your a heavy guy (like me) or ride fast you will be bottoming out allot. One other thing it had was a primmer instead of a choke, primmed it 3 or 4 times and it would usually start on the first pull. If I was to buy another sled it would defiantly be another skidoo. But you are looking at a used sled so you need to consider how the sled was ridden.

This sled has been baby'd. The thing is mint! I have known the guy selling it for the last 7 years and he has owned nothing but Ski Doos. It is a '99 and has less than 3K mi. on it. It was his wife's. He is asking 2200 for it and is throwing in a cover, jacket, gloves and a helmet. I think it is a great deal. What do you think? BTW I will not be picking it up tonight due to the weather. Hopefully Wednesday night! I will keep you all posted.

Hmmm, where did you say this is?.....
J/K!!

The bottoming is real if you ride hard, thats why I played with the suspension, mainly the heavier springs and damper.

100% agreed! Why have 130 hp unless you intend to USE it!
