What all would be necessary when swapping a 6.1L Camshaft into a 5.7L Hemi Block. Right now I'm thinking I would need 6.1 lifters, pushrods, and an MDS delete kit. Is there anything else to think about when doing this swap?

If it is a higher mileage engine I would replace the oil pump and the timing chain and tensioner set with a MOPAR SRT 6.1 set(the 6.1 tensioner has a couple extra leaf springs in it).

If I had the cam valve springs and pushrods for free or next to nothing. I’d spring for the timing set and have fun. But if you have to buy all of it, I’d go a different route. Any decent cam will need pushrods and springs either way. So really it comes down to the cost of the 6.1 cam and the adjustable timing set, throw in a few more bucks and there much better options.

Honestly you're going to spend a lot of time and money to do this right for a meager bump in power, or you can buy the right cam and drive away happy.

Galactus hungers...
