Thanks for the add Rob. I just noticed.

I'm finally in the Hemi Registry :hammer:
Last night (05/01/08) I installed a MotoRad 170 degree thermostat. I bought it at Autozone (special order). It was under the name Valucraft 4127 but when it arrived it was stamped MotoRad and Made in Germany.

The swap out wasn't too bad. I lost a lot of coolant. It came pouring out when I removed the OEM t-stat which was probably due to the fact the engine was still a bit warm. I had extra Mopar coolant on hand already mixed 50/50 with distilled water so no worries. I just added back what I needed.

The new t-stat works great. On my ride into work this morning in 61-65 degree ambient temps the engine ran cooler than I've ever seen it. I don't have EVIC but what I saw was the temp gauge needle always 2 to 4 small hash marks to the left of straight up. Straight up is 200 degrees. And this was without my fans running.

No check engine lights so far.

Tonight I take it to the track. This should be interesting.
I throw my 170 in on Sunday. These pigs hate hot coolant. I have a 180 in there now but performance wise I think a 170 will fit the bill.

Good to see you modding the 08 Mark...
I got the Diablo Predator today. I filled up with 91 octane premium and installed the 91 octane non-CAI tune. I only have a drop-in high flow air filter at the moment. I also raised the shift firmness. The car is a beast now, I love it. Next I plan on lowering the fan turn on temps.
Sweet.... gotta love the Predator....

Mod list updated and...

Just had Blastin' Bob's GPDW250 6db resonated kit w/DW tips installed today. Sounds great. I had them fully welded. No drone whatsoever. Still can't tell when MDS kicks in. The only thing I don't like is WOT still sounds stock. All other amounts of throttle sound beefy. I will be looking into swapping out my 340hp suitcase for a 350hp (Daytona) suitcase.

I'm doing great. The new Magnum is taking to the mods just fine.
Hey Z, lookin good, where'd you get those tails?

I got them here:

It shows that their store is closed right now. I guess they are changing some stuff on the web. The tails I got are the black housing type.
Good lookin out.......now if i can find some nice lookin HID/Halo's, i might be content for awhile, thanx.

There's probably a way to retrofit the OEM HIDs that come with the R/T RT or SRT-8 versions.

Any issues relating to the 170* thermostat, CEL or performance wise?

Yes, you will get the P0128 t-stat CEL but the Predator clears it. The engine does not heat up fast enough unless you autostick it to lower gears during the warm-up period after you first start driving in the morning. Once you learn the autostick trick you won't get the CEL. Also, Diablosport is aware of the issue and are working on a way to eliminate the P0128 CEL for those of us that install lower t-stats.
