Moparpalooza is an automotive charity event in the DC-metro area that raises money for the Fisher House Foundation. Fisher House provides free or low cost lodging to veterans and military families while receiving treatment at military medical centers.
This annual event, while raising money for our service men and women, is also a celebration of the heritage and passion that surrounds vehicles in the Chrysler family.
The term "Mopar" has passed into broader usage among car enthusiasts as an unambiguous reference to the parent company Chrysler (now officially Fiat Chrysler Automobiles or FCA) . The term has thus become an inclusive word for any Chrysler-built vehicle in the past and FCA-built today.' Mopar or No Car! Car participation is limited to Mopar vehicles. (i.e. Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, SRT, FIAT, Maxwell-Chalmers, Graham-Paige, Kaiser-Frazer, DeSoto, Fargo, Willys, AMC, Eagle, Plymouth)
I came accross the article in the link I'm providing and thought it would be of interest to all supporters of Moparpalooza, and anyone contemplating a donation to Ficher house and/or participating in the event.
Ever wonder just what the fisher house does? here's an excerpt from the ( somewat lenghthy) article. Lt SHell was badly burned in Iraq in 2004, saving his Sgt.
"The older boys moved to Texas a few months later, and the family moved into a unit at Fisher House, which provides housing to families of the seriously injured. Eventually, Shell joined his family at its temporary quarters and continued his rehabilitation as an outpatient."
Ask yourself, what would his family have done without fisher house?
I encourage all of you to take some time and read the article:
For the third straight year, the Detroit Shirt Company returns to support the 2016 Moparpalooza 9 Fisher House Fundraiser. They have supplied their Made in America, Made in Detroit quality t-shirts for our event.
We are happy to welcome back their dynamic and positive presence. Their founder has nice things to say about the upcoming event too, "Moparpalooza for us is the perfect marriage of celebrating the people and cars that define Mopar and the extremely important role and responsibility we have as Americans to support our warfighter, on and off the battlefield. Detroit Shirt Company is honored to be a sponsor to Moparpalooza."
