Sick of huge pictures that people link to making your entire page get all out of whack?
Use the new Thumbnail creator on LXForums!
By using the the thumbnail tag, your images will automatically be resized down to thumbnail size. By clicking on the thumbnail, anyone can view the picture in a separate window at its original size.
By clicking the thumbnail button
, it will create to tags to put your image url in between:
PHP:
[TMB] [/TMB]
Simply put your image url in between the two tags:
Just for people who run across pictures that may be too big for posts, or for people who do not know how to resize their pictures that they import straight from a camera.
Remember by clicking the thumbnail you are still brought to the full size picture.
About the only thing that could be improved is to alter the anchor to open into new tab/window. I absolutely hate being taken away from a post just to look at a picture.
Good feature for those that really want to show a highly detailed pic.
Most of the time though, I like to view pics in line embedded in the story (with a space between them though).
Question, will teh system make a smaller versioin of teh image for quicker loading or is it just a html trick to make it view smaller but actually the same image size ?
If it will be faster loading then Ill retag all my pictures in my registery
File size on the thumbnail is exactly the same as the full size pic with this feature.
Also...someone said they wished it would open in a seperate window...
Not sure if it's my browser settings(I use Mozilla Firefox...not IE)...but when I clicked on the thumbnail pic...it opened in a new window.
FWIW...
I use Photobucket( http://www.photobucket.com ) to store all my pics...and they offer a thumbnail feature that gives you a thumbnail thats a much smaller file size than the original pic...
