Having an odd issue with my magnum after raising my boost.
I have ran it for awhile now on about 8psi boost with no real issues. Raised it up to about 14psi and now i am getting some sort of torque management at roughly 4500rpm~10psi boost. It cuts the timing down to my torque reduction table and starts cutting fuel(i still have fuel shut off enabled to help get the trans to shift)
Its not ready to shift yet, shouldn't do that until 5600. You can watch it in the scanner.
Any ideas here? It was fine before on lower boost now im having this issue. Its been on higher boost for a few weeks but roads just now getting dry enough to lay down some power.
Fuel system is fine, its not running lean, it cuts. Like a hard cut, exactly like it does when its trying to shift. Timing cuts imediately to what it shows in the torque management table, and cuts fuel like as in completly shuts off the injectors for a split second.
This is most definetly a torque management issue i just can't figure out where.
Fuel system consists of walbro 450, 1/2" hard line to the front where it tees off passenger side rail(aftermarket rails) -10 crossover to the drivers rail, then dumps out the back of both into the 1:1 boost referenced return regulator, that uses the stock line for a return.
Factory fuel hat modded to bypass the factory regulator and dump the return fuel on top of the pump.
This is my a screenshot of one of my logs. The first dip in timing is where it shifted down to 1st the second and corresponding rise in afr is where it falls on its face then i let off.
So another clue on this, it only does it in first gear, and only above 9psi boost.
I took 5 degrees of timing out of the midrange just to make sure it was not detonating at all even though it shows none on the scanner. No difference.
Starting to wonder if this is another buggy 05 pcm issue.
I will as soon as i figure out what it was for sure. I changed several things at once, i will add them back one by one and then repost. Busy reworking the water to air today.
Interested to see what you find out. Sounds like the same thing my car is doing. Mine does it in first and second and I’m only running 9 psi.
