Well, your car is a 2006 with a 5.7. Your 'new' computer is 2007 for a 6.1, and then custom tuned on top of that.

The 07 ECM is what is know as NGC4 hardware. The 06 uses NGC3. The 07 will sort of work in an 06 NGC3 car with the 06 vin. It will actually start and run, however the dash will be light up like a Christmas tree because of the ECM mismatch with every other module in the car. DTCs galore. The next issue is that it is nowhere close to being the correct tune for a 5.7. It would be rich and nasty. Then, on top of that, there is a custom tune in it, supporting unknown upgrades and modifications to the original 6.1 car. Cam upgrade? exhaust? Porting? Pistons? So the 5.7 would very likely run even worse than with the stock 6.1 tune.

So the end result is: no, that 07 SRT8 computer will not work in your car.

Kinda what I think.... It has some hemi fever tune in it for a NA mill.... It was an animal till it nailed a tree. Was trying to find a way to save the tune by putting it in my 06 transfer it to my DS then to my laptop. Then put the vin back in my 06 .... I'm more interested in the specific tune and what was changed and how much.

give me some credit .... i know it will never work in a 5.7. .... realy i do. maby i should have said that the first time. i have been building and tuneing mills sence the late 70s with a feeler gage and a set of jets. .. it don't work that way anymore so i have to change with the times. the tune in my 06 is my own tune and it works realy well. will it work in a 6.1 or a 392 or in the guy next door 5.7? no. i am trying to learn how. .. i worked old guys from the 50s 60s and 70s for a reson. thay knew there ****. just as hemi fever knows theres. sadly most of the old guys are now dead and im the only one around here that will touch a carb or know what a set of points are. i can make a call and get someone to do it for me but why not do it myself??? im not trying to steal someone elses work to resell and make money on it ... im trying to learn from it. and im smart enuff to know that tune will never work on any other car but the one it was built for. but it sure gives me a clue as to what a 6.1 likes. dyno time ain't cheap.
