As most of you know we have a pcm tune and tcm tune.I'm running a procharger with 6/7 psi. and it's conservatively tuned. But the tuner said it wouldnt recommend running the tcm tune or gears changing with boost.I has just wondering have any of you guys put the tcm tune in at the dragstrip an removing it when leaving?I know with the tcm tune all or more of torque management is gone.I't just something I have been wrestling with.
Are you talking about using a canned TCM tune intended for an NA car ? if so, I agree with your tuner. I have a custom TCM tune with full torque management for my Procharged Scat and it's fantastic.
yes before I put the procharger on a was just running a 93 octane tune and tcm tune. But when they tuned for the procharger they put the tcm tune I think about stock or close
I had custom trans tunes written by two different tuners I use, and the one I like best, is a touch too aggressive for the WIFE for everyday street driving, so I use the other one and she is much happier with that one, as far as it is a touch more comfortable for her) . So I know a custom written trans tunes would def be the way to go with your set up, if you do one at all.
The custom tranny tune I had before the procharger was great....but now that I'm running boosted is the only reason I dont use it that and the tuner said it wouldnt use it under boost. But what I was thinking would it hurt too use just at the dragstrip and when I leave go back to stock tranny tune.I'm just more or less thinking out loud I only run my car maybe 3 or 4 times while I'm there and thats every 3 or 4 months
