I have as the title indicate 2016 Scat Pack Charger. Over the last two years the car has gone into limp mode on four separate occasions while doing 35-50 MPH. In every case I pulled over to the side cut the car off and restarted to regain drivability. In every case a CEL was established. The first CEL was a P0700. The dealer verified and cleared the code but indicated they thought it was an anomalous code. The second incident resulted in a P0730 code incorrect gear ratio. FCA tech rep told the dealer to update the TCM software, which was done. The third incident resulted in a P0733 and per the FCA tech rep the dealership replaced the TCM and Valve Body. This last incident also threw a P0733 code and the FCA tech rep said reset the TCM Adaptives. I don't see how causing the TCM to relearn helps solve my transmission issue. The repairpal.com website indicates the following are potential causes of the code; a) Defective 3rd gear shift solenoid
b) Defective 3rd gear related gear set or clutch pack
c) Defective Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
e) Defective Valve Body
f) Dirty transmission fluid that restricts the hydraulic passages

I feel FCA is being penny wise and pound foolish. Given FCA directed the replacement of the TCM and Valve body already, indicates to me that FCA was moving down the path of a transmission hardware problem. With this last issue and the same code being thrown, for FCA to recommend resetting the TCM adaptives doesn't make sense. The code indicates a hardware issue not software. So I'm asking the community for advice and insight on these 8 speed transmissions. The dealer recommends replacing the transmission but FCA is saying no and wants to simply reset the adaptives and see if it happens again. The car is still under the powertrain warranty. Thanks
