I have a small issue I need some help with. I have a very early build 2005 300C. It of course has a EGS52 TCM in it. The software build that pops up on the EVIC is March 2004 so she is one of the first off the line I think. Anyways my Diablo T1000 can not communicate with this TCM. Frankly it has never been a concern for me till now. I have a GETRAG 3.06 rear carrier to swap into the car. Since I can not communicate with the TCM I can't change the gear ratio with the Diablo T1000 to 3.06!!!! I figured I would just snag a EGS53 TCM out of one of the car from my local used parts yards. But it seems out of the nearly 40 LX cars they have sitting in their yard none of the Hemi cars are 07' or newer!!! Go figure. Anyways I have a friend with a 2006 SRT8 rolling chassis that I can grab the TCM from. It of course is set with a 3.06 ratio already. I assume I can use the SRT TCM and it is a simple plug and play swap correct? Thanks for any help.

You should be fine. About the only issue you may have is the SRT TCM will have the learning done on a vehicle with more power so the shifting may be a little different until it learns again.

I am running a decently built 5.7 that should be making power a little north of a stock 6.1. Thanks for the reassurance that it should do the trick.

FYI; it'll work but the TCM will never learn on its own the unique parameters of your particular transmission. It will continue to apply the parameters of the previous transmission. This is not a good thing - ever.

You'll need to perform the relearn procedure. This requires a OBDII device that can purge and initiate the relearn process.
