05 Magnum Pro Street set up with a ford 9" Transmission does not shift. What sensor?
Hi Guys,
For those that don't know or remember. I made a pro street car out of my 05 Magnum. 6.1L swap with a Ford 9" Rear end / latter bar set up. For those that do remember, yes I still have the car.
Finally got the fuel system done, brakes done and the car running perfect. Took the car for a drive and can't say I am surprised, but obviously it does not shift. I had the whole ABS module (pass front) unplugged at first as I had bypassed it but car wouldn't do anything in drive. With that plugged in the car will go into drive but won't rev over 3K RPM. Obviously I am having codes for both rear speed sensors.
Any ideas on what to bypass? Aftermarket speed sensor set up? Catch leads off front ABS sensors? Throw Automatic in the dumpster? I am sure someone has put one of these drivelines into a resto-mod and dealt with this.
Ya, we didn't use it on the brake set up but the car had a heart attack. Whoops. Completely taken out of the car it wouldn't even go into drive - but plugged in I only have 1st gear to 3K rpm's.

Is traction control turned off in the tune? It disables the abs, but not sure if it will solve your problem.
I have an ancient Diablo Sport. Not sure if it does. Think I need to come up with the times! Been away from this project too long and boy has technology came a long way.

I'm so glad to hear this car is still in the works. Hope you're able to resolve things soon - looking forward to some more updates/pics/videos.
I am still using the stock 5.7L oem ECU (6.1L swap - OLD Diablo tuner). I have to look into the stand alone set ups. When I did the swap I believe that diablo sport was the only way to do it (tune out MDS / EGR etc...).
From what I've read we NEED the ABS module in order to make it work. It doesn't have to be functioning..just in the car in orderfor the tranny to shift. I'm far from an expert but in wondering if it has something to do with the tone rings? I damaged mine doing my getrag install and had similar symptoms. With you not having any at all it could be causing issues. I dont know a way around it but someone out there might. Good luck!!
I agree with you. I found a company that puts late model hemi motors into old mopars. They simply run a tone ring on the driveshaft with a speed sensor and reprogram the front control module. Looks like I will have to get rid of the Giubo (rotoflux u-joint) on my driveshaft as that will flex and take out the tone ring. Looks like I need the slip yolk out of a SRT8 & to run a new driveshaft.
This is the company that I found all the info to make it work:
I thought the same thing! If it was a TH-400 I'd be in luck . Can't say I found any manual valve bodies for a WA580 on my google searches.

Not sure what you mean; easy-peezie to bypass the Dynamic Sense Module (DSM) with a simple toggle switch that momentarily removes PWR. For the rest of that key-cycle, the PCM and FCM ignore CANbus data allowing you to do whatever you like with any and all gears. The result is no ESP / ABS until the next key cycle.
A rear sensor failure (for example) does not prevent gear engagement, only limits rpm to 3K (still drivable).
Never going to be a manual valve body for the NAG1. Transmissions are just not like they use to be. Your options are to use a kit that uses factory speed sensors and traction and factory tcm or go with a standalone tcm package to run the transmission or I also have a module that will emulate all modules necessary to use the factory tcm with the factory ecu and shifter. Both which will work without recoding any modules. Just depends on what you want to do.
