Tire recommendations

Hello all, so i'm currently having to shop for new tires again after almost 1 year on my conti DSW's. I'll probably be able to squeek out another 5k for a total of 26k which sucks since these are stated from conti to be a 50k tire. I don't drag race, road race etc, just drive allot 70 mile round trip commute 5 days a week. The tires have been well taken care of, PSI maintained at 35 at all fours and rotated every other oil change I do mine at 5k and alignment is good. The tires have worn evenly just worn out fast.

I'm thinking about using a suv tire like the nitto 420's but the reviews are hit or miss. I'm looking at a yokohama advin gt touring with a UTQG of 740. At this point i'm just not looking forward to spend another 1k on tires that will not last me a year.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be great.

**Sorry forgot the tire size 245/45R20**

May I recommend the Proxes T1 Sport , I just ordered a set for my 18" wheels. I've heard great reviews about them and you can have a set of four in your size for less than 600$. Catalog

I have had 17 Charger SP for about 1.5 years (and right at 13k miles) and I'm about to put my 4th set of rears on. Mind you, the first set were the factory Goodyears, the second set was a defective Atturo 850, the third set (still on the car) were Nitto NT05's and I've had my way with them this summer lol.

I'm also about to put my 3rd set of wheels on it as well. Wheels aren't in my yearly car budget, but I knew tires would have to be done at least yearly, especially if I ran summer tires.

My Nexen HP have been pretty good.Nexen Tire

have treated me very well. Traction has been great till this last 6 months in the rain they suck now. But they also have 60k+ miles on them.

Best overall performance tires that I have owned for daily driving with aggression and traction were Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 or AS4's. A tad pricy, but they gave me ample hook up when I had my 71 Chevelle with a 408, th350, ford 9in, moser 34 spline and 3:73 gears. Currently I have a Mickey Thompson Street Comp tires 275/45 R20s and the summer has finally shown up here in Washington and I can smell the rubber just driving normal. So I'm probably going to need some new tires soon since they smell like they are melting off lol.

Thanks guys for the recommendations. I think i'm going to experiement and buy a cheap set and see how they last, my logic here is if i'm spending 1k on tires and they are only lasting a year and 25k then if I can buy a 300 set of tires and get close or the same milage I can get 3 replace them every year at the same cause of a "name brand/expensive" tire.

When my stock ones wear out, i will be looking at the BFG G-Force Comp-2 A/S. They have very good reviews. Last tires i bought were for the car i traded in for the Dodge and they were Conti DWS06. They too handle well in dry and wet. Where i live, we get a lot of hard rains so wet performance is very important to me and I too drive a long distance for work. My commute is 40miles each way 5 days a week.

Netto Motivo 275 40 20. just replaced the rears. Got 50,000 miles out of them. 90% highway driving. Fronts are 245 45 20's. They have another year left. 90% highway at 85 MPH. For me they are excellent. Got the last set on E bay. No tax, free shipping for 385.00 total.

My new-to-me '14 R/T Blacktop came with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3s in 245-45R20. According to the service records, they have 45,000 miles on them. The fronts are at 6-7/32, the rears are 4-5/32, so it's pretty clear the PO didn't rotate them often enough. If he had, my guess is they would have gone well over 50k. As it is, I'm planning to replace them with Kumho Ecsta ASXs, which I suspect are the "$280" tires the OP mentioned.

I noticed that the Milestar 932s are on sale at Wallyworld for $82. That's a great price and I suspect they'd wear better than the Kumhos.

I just got a pair of 315/35/20 mounted, I will let you know after I drive for a bit. I have used Pilot Super Sport ever since trying them out so the PS4 should be an evolution of an already amazing tire. I am still running my PSS up front until they wear down some more.

I had a 2014 5.7 RT ran 245/45/20 Michelin Primacy's two sets in 4 years on the RT with 86000 miles on it. I had a credit given to me from dealer when I bought the 18 scat pack for the stock tires for a new set of Michelin Primacy's. which was same thing I had done on the 2014 R/T. I dont do burn outs but do get froggy now and then. They stick to the road very well on wet pavement and a driving rain. They ride very well too.I got them for about 1000 mounted and balanced out the door. They are a little less than half worn out with 18000 plus on them right now.Would like to go up one size next time around in the Primacy's or just stay the same. That's my nickles worth to you..lol.

I had a Chrysler 300 some years back that came with Continental tires,it was first Time I tried Michelin Primacy and man was I surprised how well they done on the 300 after replacing the Continental tires, been running them ever since as well as on the truck too. Great tires!

Get the Michelin All Seasons, I have them on my wife's car and they are super solid in the rain. Don't mess around with safety and just go with the best.

Since you are in South Florida, you can run The Pilot Sport 4 as well and those are unreal as far as wet grip and dry grip, but you pay for the premium product. I would doubt there is anything better on the market, as every test proves.

Too much $. I had pilots on my G37. Wear was really bad. If I have to buy tires, no need for all seasons.

23 days I had this car. After this morning I went right to the dealer & complained...they offered me a free oil change....:boohoo:

LOL....that was a good deed for a complaint! Have you ever had the Primacy Michelins? I ran them on Chrysler 300 ,Dodge Charger r/t ,2014 Ram and currently on the 392 Scat Pack Charger. (The New Ram currently came with bridge stones not sure about them only 2800 miles so far) The Primacy on the charger produced 54000 miles with great all around wear and rain tire, On the Scat P. they have performed very well with 19000 miles so far. On the old Ram they performed very well puliing Camper, boat etc to around 55000 miles as well.

Had gave some thought about running the Pilots next on the Scat Pack next time around until I saw your post.Sounds like wear on Pilots is not so hot?

Sport Comp 2s are doing very well. Little over 6 months and shortly going on its second rotation. Handle like day one and wearing nicely even though i went with the 275 rather than the stock 245s. Its gotten slightly noicier but am overall much hapier with these over stock goodyears. Did I mention they stick much better

How have these worked out for you? I'm already going to need to replace the tires on mine again I might be able to squeeze out another 4k but a set of 50k rated tires and i'm only going to get about 18k out of them. Not sure what else I can do but buying tires every year is not financially sound and even though I love the car thats an expense i'm not willing to pay all the time.
