Need PIX of Broken SRT Half Shafts

I'm trying to nail down some things regarding this phenominon.

There appears to be @ least 2 diferent versions of these half shafts & they can be identfied by the coloration of the output spline.

If you have any good clear pictures of the broken output spline on the SRT half shafts, would you please post them.

If you have had more than 1 of these failures, please post pictures of all broken component if you have them.

EDIT: Please include the build date W/the photo.

That's just what I wanted to see.

The coloration of the spline to just before the axle nut threads shows the blue from tempering so if this shows in repeated PIX it might point to these particular shafts being the culprit.

Of course if we get shots of the non blued/tempered splines breaking, then it means that all half shfts are suspect.

    Keep 'em coming guys.

I hope you right, but perhaps you could also ask the build date on the car... just in case they learned something and stopped doing it wrong?

Very good point. So far both of these failures are on the blue/tempered splines.

I will edit the 1st post to include the build date.

It looks as though the early build blue/tempered type of output spline is the culprit but I would sure like to see some more examples to make a more difinitive conclusion.

Come on all you guys that have broken halfshafts on stock displacement N/A 6.1s. (You guysW/the 426s, blowers & spray making over 500 RWHP can probably snap either type)

Your pictures could help solve a mystery here.

It would be interesting to see the results here if you can get more to come forward with more information.

I think everyone that has beefed up the halfshafts so far has went with bigger everything.. CVs, shafts, hub etc... I wonder what would break and how much it would take if we could just fix this part that is breaking without upgrading the rest, just to see if there was a resonably priced fix for the common under 600 HP guys that only occasionally go to the track.

Those pictures look just like my 2 broken ones. I broke one in December, and 1 in March. The second one broke on the 1st launch. Same part number on both. I run N2O, but don't launch on bottle.

But were they both blue where the splines meet the hub?
