Need PIX of Broken SRT Half Shafts

I'm trying to nail down some things regarding this phenominon.

There appears to be @ least 2 diferent versions of these half shafts & they can be identfied by the coloration of the output spline.

If you have any good clear pictures of the broken output spline on the SRT half shafts, would you please post them.

If you have had more than 1 of these failures, please post pictures of all broken component if you have them.

EDIT: Please include the build date W/the photo.

And here is my addition to the half shaft thread :)

Right side snapped like a twig when I got the ass in the air and came back down all the power transfered to the right side due to the half as* open rear diff and SNAP!!

No, the 215mm diffs have a beefier spline @ the diff end

You will also need the rear portion of the SRT driveshaft for the 4 bolt coupling.

The 210mm diff has a 3 bolt coupling.

yeah im buying a whole set up just wondering if i snapped an axle if i could use my 5.7 one as a spare. guess not... is the 09 axle just a direct swap or upgrade for the 215?

i am sooo lost on this...you guys sound like your going back and forth!>? lol...and why are people going with th 09 r/t axles and hubs when snapping or just upgrading then?

next suggestion would be to ge an lsd....to stop the posi or open axle from sending all your power to only one side...that would deff stop the snapping until you make big hp numbers...im running a quaife with a gear set and i havent had a single problem with snapping the rite side axle since i switched out the whole rear setup...new axles and hubs...fully built pumpkin...car dead hooks if i dont spin...check out the vids on you tube....just type in "gotrubber?"

Many here have tried that a long time ago.Just adding a LSD will not keep SRT axles from breaking.IMO the LSD doesnt impress me one bit.To many fast cars running
stock diffs around here to run out and drop that kind of coin.

hey mexi...i suggest you look into upgrading your axles from what you have now to the 2009 r/t axles and hubs...31 splines and all...just my .02 cents....i know alot of guys that are doing this...

i hear ya...i myself do the correct way....i am fortunate enough to be able to get the rite parts, and i like visiting the track...some in not going to cut corners so i can break down...the guys that have the big hp numbers and strokers with poweradders obviously have the coin...

Im in the middle of installing a 392 with a direct port setup and still dont have the coin
or justify spending the coin on the LSD.A few people that are in the top 10 in the data
base dont run the LSD.BTw I just noticed your time in there nice run.But dont get to comfortable in the spot:Na_Na_Na_Na:Im not liking my number 14 spot anymore :mrgreen:

lol...thats with a 125 shot untuned....wait till my CMR software comes in next week...and i completely pull out the zex system and replace with the NOS systems two stage controller unit....that things off the chain...and so will the car....low tens or bust on the stock block here i come...

oh and my fuel system is here! -8an lines thru the car with the fore billet tripple pump hat...sexy lil piece...and il be running 2 walbro 255s in it for now...with some secret injectors and i also have my new 99mm injected tb on order....hoping that will be here next week so i cant get my fuel system in before i start messing with the nos systems...

hoping to make the low ten mark by the end of the month...if i can find my wheels...they were recently stolen so keep your eyes open for me...

Here are some pics of my right side broken part. After the car being in the shop a week and a half waiting on the replacement to be shipped up from Shreveport I got it back this past wednesday afternoon. Saturday (105 miles later) I took off about 3/4 throttle from a light and about 60-100' later BANG... there went the left side. The right side as you can see has the blue "ring" around it that the other broken ones had. I will hopefully have more pics to show the left one when I go to pick it up tomorrow (at least they said it would be done then).

Edit: I will add for those who insist on saying people aren't breaking them on street tires, that I was running on my regular Nitto 420S street tires when it happened.

This sticky has only had 3 updates in the last 3 years, did Chrysler do an upgrade for 2011+ model years?
