300c 6.1(Stock block) + Magnuson Supercharger + HP Tuners = 600WHP Am I at the limit?

Gentlemen, here are the mods I currently have on my 06 300 srt8: Magnuson TVS2300 Supercharger, 2.9" pulley, Intake, Flowmaster exhaust, 700HP Fuel Pump, 50lb Injectors, Arrington Oil Catch Can, Getrag G648 Diff, Paramount Stage 2 Valvebody, Dyno tuned by Wally @International Dyno Authority using HP Tuners.

The car made 610whp and 608 wtq on 91 pump gas. A few weeks later just to see, I used 94 octane and it made 625whp and 611wtq. I didn't have the tune adjusted for the higher octane.

My question is this: Am I at the limit of the stock motors capability before I risk failure?

In the spring I want to try long tube headers, 80lb injectors and a 2.65" pulley but I am worried that the motor won't be able to handle the additional power, despite the headers releasing some of the boost.

The transmission is being upgraded with a SHP War viking kit as we speak...so that will be fine.

Any insight, information and opinions are greatly appreciated.

Here are the Dyno charts before and after the tune:

1. Baseline
2. Baseline #2
3. First adjustment during tuning
4. Tuned on HP Tuners using 91 pump gas
5. Same tune, with 94 Octane

Ran at the strip this past Sunday. Best passes were 11.32 @121.87 with a 1.63 60' and 11.29 @122.60 with a 1.67 60'. The air was great...and I think the car is finally dialed in. Still making 7psi.

There is definitely more in the tank for this car, even with the granny 3.06 gearing. I may consider a 3.42 or something similar next year.

I was running Forgestar d5 17x10(0 offset) with Mickey Thompson ET street R 315/35r17 tires to help somewhat offset the tall gearing. Stock fronts. I ordered skinnies. If they arrive soon, I may go back to the strip and try them.

Check out the slips....car 777.

Yes good tune and quality fuel is KEY.
Talk to your tuner about how AFR's are affected when the IAT's get high such as after a few WOT pulls or lots of playing in summer heat. Some tuners will add a safety and go a little richer when higher IAT's are detected.

My 2005 GM Truck L33 5.3 with Maggie gets 8psi @11.8 AFR at WOT and if I have been working her hard in the summer on some WOT runs I'll see the AFR go from 11.80 to 11.08 without feeling any loss. This is usually at the top of the runs.

Seeing this I sent the scan to the tuner asking about it and he says "Heh, you been a beating on her in succession aye?" He pointed out where my IAT's were getting crazy hot telling me he wrote the enriching in specifically for this.

Whatch your IAT's when playing hard in the heat.

I'll have to do some logging and see what IAT2 says.

Once I added my huge AFE inverted filter, I didn't realize that the car was running a 12.0-12.5 afr(it varied depending on rpm...I'll post the runs). The car was originally tuned at 11.4 in 2019.

After dialing in the tune at 11.6-11.8 the car gained 40HP an 40Tq at the wheels. For the entire months of August and September, and up until 2 weeks ago, I hadn't realized that I was running 12-12.5. ****ing lean. Car felt good...but it was much happier once we gave it the fuel it needed..and obviously much safer which is great.

60 1/4 passes, 40 dyno pulls and easily over 200 street pulls, I think it's safe to say the tune is fine. Can a 14 year old stock 6.1 handle this type of torque forever? Of course not. But that's to be expected. Running rich has plenty of downsides.

Hellcats come from the factory running 12.0-1 afr from the factory(.83 lambda).

My car on the dyno made even more power down low running 12.2-1, but that's too lean for stock internals. 11.7-11.8 has been fine and is plenty safe.

Yeah...explains why whenever anyone wants to turn up a hellcat, they need bigger injectors. Running duty cycle that high isn't a good thing. "Spraying all the time"...all injectors are spraying "all the time". If they didn't, the car wouldn't run. I'm sure when they say "all the time" they mean at high duty cycle, but again this isn't a good thing, at all.

"Increased block cooling"....wish they would have expanded more on that.

I've lowered my engine temps and IAT2 running a 160 t-stat and an EGR delete. I'll be throwing some ARH long tubes on the spring which will lower EGT's and relieve some boost pressure as well, which should both help with heat.

I'm currently making 630whp and 670wtq which is hellcat power running 7-8 psi which is 3-4psi less than a hellcat.

lots of miles, time to step it up and find out what it can take.:racing: But don't believe me my car is sitting in the garage since October.:boohoo:

I really don't want to grenade this thing....it's been running so well. Headers and a 90mm throttle body are going on in the spring, we'll see how much power comes from those. I'm hesitant to run a smaller pulley without pistons.

Thats about where my car was before a 2.85 pulley on the magnuson, but i did put a hellcat block in to take the increase in boost.

but i never had such good air. always around 2000 DA.

shorties, different lower pulley, upper was 3.2. now 2.85 with about 10 lbs, never did i use my race tune and race gas running on 93 street tune, best in a da of 2200 10.85 with a 1.47 60'. Current builder says that with the race tune and a few other tweeks it could be a 10.5. But i did retire from drag racing last year due to health and age issues.
Oh head and cam package from Arrington, true cold air intake, built trans and drive shaft, 3.06 srt pumpkin, exhaust .

That's an awesome 60'...I couldn't shoot out of the hole any harder than 1.62. Most runs were 1.66-1.70 60'.

Hellcat block gives you more CI with the bigger 4.090" bore which is great. I plan to increase the bore, and do heads/cam when I eventually will have to build the engine.

with -1500 DA like we get up here in the late fall, you'd hit way better times for sure of course.
