We are welcoming back the SRT Engineers to the LxForums!
The ground rules:
First off, the SRT Engineers take time out of their busy schedule making go fast goodies to be here to answer our questions. Let's show them the proper courtesy and patience. There will be many questions and they may not be able to answer every question asked. If your question is skipped, please be patient as questions are not answered in order.
Please only ask one or two questions. There are lots of people who want to ask questions, so let's give everyone a chance.
Stay on the topic at hand. SRT Vehicles! Keep the off-topic chat to the other sections of the website. There is to be no discussion between members in this forum. Ask your question and enjoy the replies from the Engineers!
If your question has already been asked (by you or someone else). Don't re-post it in hopes to get it answered quicker.
Make sure you let the SRT Engineers know what model SRT vehicle you are driving or inquiring about. Yes, a head gasket is quite different between an SRT8 and an SRT4.
As much as everyone is salivating over what comes in the future, the SRT Engineers cannot answer any questions regarding future product.
Thank you for your reply-you have given me hope and my wallet a heart attack. I am afraid to ask (actually I am ) what kind of hardware? A hemi tuner in Germany,,,,, LMAO!!!!
How come a manual transmission is not offered in the Charger SRT or the 300 SRT? I need a 4 door and a manual trans is the only thing thats missing from my Charger.
This is kind of treading on future products but I hope not. SRT obviously is a brand that pulls vehicles from Chrysler Groups portfolio for massaging. Does this stop with Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler? Meaning does SRT have the ability to massage a Fiat or Ram?
Power steering pump reliability? I have (2) 2007 SRT8 Chargers & both have 70k. The one that has seen considerable more track time has pinkish brown fluid & the less abused one ( until this point) has black, faint burnt odor fluid.. Both see 1/4 mile track..... How often would you recommend flush & fill?
It won't be easy to get all the fluid out of the system, you could disconnect the high pressure and low pressure lines at the steering gear and drain the fluild out the system, and turn the steering wheel (with engine off) to burb any fluild out of the gear. Then retorque the lines to the gear, refill the reservoir, and use a vacuum pump to pull as much air out of the system. Top off the resevoir once again, start the engine, and turn the wheel lock to lock to burp any remaining air from the system.
The more you track the car the more often you should change fluid.
Most definietly! The TR6060 is stronger than the T56 in a couple key ways. First off the gears significantly are stronger. The shift system is stiffer for greater shift precision, and the synchronizers are beefed up.
Sorry we didn't get to your post the first time...
I am planning to attend my 3rd SRT track experience soon... can you tell me from which date forward the 2014 Jeep will join the track experience vehicles (if it hasn't already).
The headlights will physically fit on the Jeep. To make them fit, you would have to install new headlamp supports, a new fascia to fit the headlamps (different outer shape), new fender supports, and start from scratch with wiring. At the end of it all, you would have the same fast-flashing blinkers like you get with a burned out bulb (thanks to headlamp module communications with the body control module). To answer your question, it is possible but probably not worth it.
Thank you for answering the one about my Charger, and the console charging problem.
My wife drives a 2009 Caliber SRT4, and we are considering a tune that would regularly max the stock turbo at around 19psi, Are the stock internals able to handle that on a consistent basis, or do I need to be looking at a reinforced head gasket/head studs..
Your really stretching my memory on this one. If I recall correctly, the head bolts, gaskets and rod bolts are all up to the task. The one area of engine that would probably require a look are the saw-tooth coolant passages between the bores. If you are making 19lbs boost all the time, your cylinder pressures may cause the bore sleeve to crack.

Great video and definitely some snippets at the direction SRT is going. So when is the SRT Track Experience going to Circuit of the Americas? Same question with if the 2013 Viper will be incorporated in to the SRT Track Experience?
No, although he did drive a modified Caliber SRT4 in the 2006 Targa Newfoundland.
With the 2014 Jeep SRT getting the 8-speed 8HP70 transmission, how much fuel economy improvement can we expect from the outgoing 12 city / 18 highway 5-speed NAG1?
Does this happen when going straight or hustling around corners?
Straight-line hesitation could be the result of a partially plugged fuel filter.
If hustling around corners, you may have sloshed fuel across the tank and away from the pick-up.
I do have a question on my Caliber as well. I have been noticing lately that if I give it high boost in a higher gear for about 3 seconds or so the car will make a big surge as if power was cut. It throws no codes or anything of the sort. I have never gotten it do it rowing through the gears while redlining every gear. However say I am in 4th or 5th on the freeway and instead of downshifting just hit the throttle to get passing it usually happens. I have noticed it won't usually do it on the first pass but most every time on the second. After it has done it once for that trip it will then do it in any gear while boosting for more than a second or two. Again no codes are being thrown. Recently have changed the plugs as well and they looked normal at the time of changing. Will a dealers log be able to catch any issues if it isn't throwing codes? I am asking if its worth paying the dealer an hour labor to help run this down.

When you get the "surge" do you see the boost gage dip? It almost sounds like your surge valve may be popping open. Are you boosting over stock? Have a look at the vacuum lines going to the turbo and make sure everything is good there. When you lift does it give a "horse laugh" type sound? That can be a sign that the surge valve is no longer holding properly. Also wouldn't hurt to pull the cap off the surge valve and make sure the diaphram is still in good shape, hard and crunchy isn't good, pliable is.
Do you still have your Stage 3 SRT-4, and do you track drive it, street drive it, or daily drive it. If you no longer have it... do you miss it? I still miss mine... pffffff-whoosh....
It ABSOLUTELY works. The front and rear aero have been tuned to have the car feel the same at 150 mph as 80 mph. The rear end has 77 counts of downforce (with that spoiler and will have some serious lift without it). Dynamics wouldn't sign off on the high speed stability without it.
Thank you for the reply.... Sorry, I may have not worded it right. I have a custom tune on one & a diablo "canned tune" on the other... I was under the impression that tuners are still not able to access all the tables on the 6.1 vs approved (shops) tuners for the 6.4?
Will mopar come out with a Mopar TCM for 2012+ SRT's? I don't believe the older MTCM works with the newer cars. Also, will we be able to flash the current 2012 TCM with launch control that is out on the 2013's?
Don't know about Mopar TCM plans, but can tell you that the TCM is not the brain behind '13 Launch Control so swapping it definitely won't get you the feature.
