SRT Engineers Round Table Discussion, Part III

Wednesday, July 21st 6pm - 8pm ET

The ground rules:

  • First off, the SRT Engineers take time out of their busy schedule making go fast goodies to be here to answer our questions. Let's show them the proper courtesy and patience. There will be many questions and they may not be able to answer every question asked. If your question is skipped, please be patient as questions are not answered in order.
  • Please only ask one or two questions. There are lots of people who want to ask questions, so let's give everyone a chance.
  • Stay on the topic at hand. SRT Vehicles! Keep the off-topic chat to the other sections of the website. There is to be no discussion between members in this forum. Ask your question and enjoy the replies from the Engineers!
  • If your question has already been asked (by you or someone else). Don't re-post it in hopes to get it answered quicker.
  • Make sure you let the SRT Engineers know what model SRT vehicle you are driving or inquiring about. Yes, a head gasket is quite different between an SRT8 and an SRT4. :wink:
  • As much as everyone is salivating over what comes in the future, the SRT Engineers cannot answer any questions regarding future product.

Thank you for the details on the Challenger spring rates. I have used 250#, 350# and 450# springs on my AFCO shocks and it is great to compare my results to the stock values which were previously unknown to me.

Hey guys, great hanging out with you guys again...
Please make the future SRTs with shift paddles on the new 8speed tranny ;)
I have one issue with my 05 built model since i can only touch the esp button once, holding it for ten seconds doesn't do anything for me , disable by predator gets me stuck in 2nd gear... so my burnouts sometimes are really sad looking... is their anything that can be done to update my software so i can hold the esp button for ten seconds and have everything off...
otherwise all is good :)

Sorry, there isn't a calibration that can be flashed into your module for you to get 3 mode ESP. But since your running in the mid 11's with your "Maybach" 300, you should be fine.

Please add me to the list of interested parties on the power steering pump issues. I have already added a third party cooler on my car to lower fluid temps while on the road course. I still worry about power steering pump failures with large tires, high speed corners and concrete barriers...

Is there any possibility of doing a software update to add the capability to change the rear axle ratio or tire size on a 6-speed LC? I know I am not the ony one that wants to make this type of change.

Hey Bill! We have just as much fun as you guys do! I was a little disappointed to hear that you let Ort beat you though...have you been slacking off since you started hanging out with those guys across town? :stir:

If you could put the best spring/shock combination together solely for drag racing on a SRT Charger. What would do?

Ok, didn't aee it asked yet... so I'll give it a go.

Any progress with 6-sp wheel hop or is that just going to have to be dealt with aftermarket products?
I believe there would be a long line for anything that would come out of your department.

Will there be a 2011 Jeep SRT8 or will it be introduced in 2012??

And thanks for all your help and kick as* vehicles you guys make on my 2nd SRT8 and will be getting the next Jeep SRT8 when you guys release it.

SRT8 for life!

When out on a road course my Traction Control Light comes on by itself and stays on until the session is over. Can you explain why it does that? I have heard it does that because the brakes are hot and the computer doesn't want to keep applying the brakes so much. Any truth to that? This is happening on a 2006 GC SRT8.

Why did you guys put a canbus system on the Caliber SRT4's and make it virtually impossible to tune these cars? And then not offer the Stage 1 with the car? The car is hella fun to drive with the stage 1 upgrade, you have to agree with me on that!! So why not a stage 2 upgrade with a little extra boost? Is it the limited production numbers?? Yes we know what the production numbers are and can prove it. ;)
