Buyer and seller beware! We've had reports of some very odd scams forming on the LXForums lately. Please, do your research before exchanging $$, parts or services with anyone. Do some extreme vetting of your own. Check their rating, check prior posts, get referrals, use an Escrow service, phone a friend. Also, do not enter your user name and password into any links or odd looking URLs. The latest scam involves someone who cloned the LXForums and was asking people to log into. I'm assuming to get login credentials to run other scams on the site. I'm talking about you Viperking (you little prick). If this happened to you please change your password ASAP.

If something seems weird please report to the staff and proceed with caution.

People who scam car people should be shot and then run over lol it is really disappointing the amount of scammers these days....I prefer to do business in person to avoid this or use something like Paypal where you have some kind protections...Never just send or wire money!

There have been scammers trying to sell **** they don't have on this site.:sosayweall:

I just had one the other day trying to sell me Inertia Motorsport heads and cams. Funny thing is they was using picture from an old stroker build off the site...

Can't you make it a requirement to post pictures with your username and date with the item? That would help for people who actually don't have them.

Example of a scam account responding to WTB posts, I've had these from several different forums, always the same type of response. And yes I reported it

I just came here to report the same user / message.
I sent an email, and got a fast, template reply = too weak to be real. With a picture of the wrong part, I found the same picture on Google from 2015 posted in challengertalk.com

Also from user Ozzie33: I know of someone who sells this you should contact him at askreed121@gmail.com

p.m.'s fishing from your wanted ad are pretty obvious - but don't click.

I received an email from willsmax too about the red 300c emblems I was looking for. I emailed Tammy Harrison, she sent me pictures of them, said she lived in Montana and the price for two was $50 shipped. I sent her an email back that a search on ebay brings up the same ones for $14.03, didn't hear back from her...glad I read this thread.

I just got this from Willsmax

Been emailing this Tammy Harrison and it's exactly as has been noted before they only want Money Order or Money Gram but will accept PayPal but only as Family and Friends. Glad I decided to do a search on here because something wasn't sitting right with me. Be Careful People - they're out there waiting to scam us out of our hard earned money. Damn conniving bastards!!!!!

Just a reminder - USE PAYPAL AND DO NOT SEND AS FRIENDS AND FAMILY. Also, DO NOT INDICATE SHIPMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE SHIPMENT. If you remember nothing else about performing online transactions, remember these 2 points.

DON'T TRUST A STRANGER - FULL STOP!

Honestly I think most of the forum scammers are pretty obvious, the phone scammers though (and their phone number spoofing) are driving me up the wall.
