The first of many updates. I've started planning for our 2018 MOPAR centric charity and social event. The date will be June 2, 2018 at Heart Lake Conservation Area. I've just started and I have some pretty exciting news to start. First, the folks at the Modern Street Hemi Shootout organization, (Dan VanHorn and associates) who run a series of races around the US and hold an event at Milan Raceway on Woodward weekend, have generously donated the entry fee for a season's worth of races for one racer. Value US$500. We will have an Adam's products (car cleaning and detailing supplies) exhibiting again and who will be donating a basket of Adams product, SOLO Performance Exhaust products has also confirmed their support again with the donation of a full catback system and lastly, we may have the Brampton Batman with his Batmobile in attendance (which I think is pretty cool!). He has confirmed his availability for June 2 so as of right now, it all looks good. I'll have some more exciting news to come as soon as I can firm up details. That's it for now! Enjoy your day!

Hello everyone, with only a week and a few days left before Christmas, this will be the last update until the new year.
I am so pumped with respect to raffle prize donations for the 2018 event! In addition to welcoming Modern Street HEMI Shootout as a new event supporter, I'm extremely happy to announce that JR Sehmbi and Federal Race, have graciously offered to donate a Demon harness bar! That's right, the exact same bar that is offered as an option on the Dodge Demon, built from the original designs of the original creator, and which may fit other models of the Lx platform. He also manufactures high quality aftermarket engine mounts and will donating a set as well.
We're also extremely grateful to, and would like to welcome Mishimoto Automotive as a supporting event vendor, who has graciously offered to donate a gift certificate, good for 50% off any of their product found on their website (https://www.mishimoto.com/) . These folks manufacture all kinds of high performance products!
We've also received confirmed commitments from a number of last year's event supporters including Innovative Hydrographics, PJs Auto Spa, RockAuto.com Don R Brown ReBadge Design & Graphics, LLCLegmaker Intakes, LLC Solo Performance Inc. and so far have over $4K in donations. The event venue is graciously being taken care of by prime event sponsor Authentic Performance and also by Toronto & Region Conservation Authority. I envision next year's event to be the best event yet (I know, I know, I keep saying that every year LOL!).
Thanks to all our event supporters. Our annual charity event, raising money for Peel Children's Aid Foundation, wouldn't be as successful as it has been without your support.
Here's wishing everyone all the best for a safe and joyous holidays season and for success towards whatever you attempt in 2018.
Bryan.

Happy new year everyone! Hope your holidays were enjoyable and relaxing.
I don't know about you but I'm counting down the days until I can install my summer tires!
Just a quick update on the 2018 GTALx charity/social event planning. For those that are coming from out of town, hotel arrangements have been made with the Brampton, Marriot. The discounted rate will be CAD$139 per night but the discount code - GTA - must be referenced at time of booking. Cut off date for bookings is May 7, 2018.
I am also happy and fortunate to be able to welcome a couple of new supporters to our event. Rajpreet Mann of Mann Auto Collision Centre and Kristen White from Ginger's Automotive Creations have graciously offered to donate raffle prizes for our charity raffle raising funds for Peel Children's Aid.
Hope all is well otherwise and will have more updates as we get closer to June 2.
Keep an eye on the GTALx FB page for future updates.
Enjoy your day!
Bryan.

Hello everyone, I trust the family day long weekend (if you're in Ontario) was an enjoyable one. Just a quick update on planning progress for our annual Mopar centric, charity fund raiser and social event happening on June 2nd.
In addition to the confirmed event supporters previously mentioned, we now also have firm commitments (either attending or prize donations) from Brampton Chrysler, Black Cat Custom Automotive, Mothers Car Care, Design Cutz, Esri Canada, and Kaption Car & Home Audio. Brampton Fire Services and Peel Regional Police will also be in attendance as will Fire It Up BBQ Catering (I can smell the food already!) and our trusty ice cream truck from Donkey Kone.
Regrettably, the plan to have the Brampton Batman attend has fallen through as he double booked after committing to us.
In any case, I still have yet to hear from a few other previous donation providers but as of right now, we have approximately $7K in raffle prize donations.
Remember that for anyone who requires accommodation, hotel arrangements have been made with the Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Brampton hotel. The discounted rate will be CAD$139 per night but the discount code - GTA - must be referenced at time of booking. Cut off date for bookings is May 7, 2018.
That's all for now. Have a super weekend!

Since Batman is out I might be able to get a Darth Vader and Kylo Ren if you are looking for characters for the kids
Let me know and I will look into it.

#8 ·
Thanks! We invited Batman primarily for his Batmobile LOL. If your characters are willing to appear at no cost, and walk around for a bit, maybe for photo ops, that would be great. I'm not sure how many kids there will be though.

Greetings everyone! I just wanted to provide an update to the forthcoming GTALx 2018 event sponsored by Authentic Performance. In addition to the previous raffle prize supporters mentioned, we have confirmation of exhibitor participation from Brampton Chrysler, who again will be bringing some current showroom vehicles to display. We also have additional raffle donations from the Facebook group TeamHellcat, from Longman's Woodbine Chrysler, from The Suspension Source (a supporting vendor here) who will be donating a coilover kit again, and from the Courtyard Marriot Brampton who will be donating one night's accommodation to next year's event and from LXF member Magnezium who will be donating a custom airbrushed hemi engine cover with a clock on it. We still have yet to hear from a small number of last year's supporters but we're well on our way to a fantastic day of prizes to be raffled off.

Additionally, I would like to ask you to complete the brief survey found at the link below if you are planning to attend. The information collected will allow us to make sure that we have enough food for all and to give us an idea of the many makes/models planning to attend. The survey can be found here - https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/5ce57b2ce6994a7a9e9bb6f74585a7ec

Lastly, and most importantly, if you are bringing a non-MOPAR vehicle to the event, (and not part of an vendor display) please note that you will have to park at the parking lot up the road and outside of the event space, (about 1/2km away) - this will ensure that there will be enough parking for MOPAR vehicles. Last year we had people with families in mini-vans and other non-MOPAR vehicles entering/parking, taking away valuable parking space needed due to the wet ground making the grassy areas unusable. I am going to try and arrange a shuttle from the external parking site to the event site but not sure at this point if that is going to happen. That's all for now! Peace!

Hi folks, with only 46 days to go, this is just a reminder to register for the event if you plan on attending. Registration will help us to ensure that Fire It Up BBQ Catering brings enough of their delicious BBQ offerings. As a bonus, anyone who registers will be entered into a draw to win a beautiful piston clock donated by Kristen at Ginger's Automotive Creations. The draw will happen at the event.

Registration can be done here - https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/5ce57b2ce6994a7a9e9bb6f74585a7ec

Also, a reminder that event t-shirts are also now available through LXF member Don Brown (Lost) - dbtsapparel@gmail.com - see post above for details.

Hello all! With 38 days to go, we are down to the final details for our annual MOPAR centric charity/social event. We have over CAD$10K in raffle prize donations from our event supporters!
Remember, 100% of the raffle proceeds go to Peel Children’s Aid Society in support of the good work they do to assist and support children and families in need.
A small sampling of donations include a full cat back system from SOLO, over $1000 in gift certificates from Billet Technology, a Demon Harness bar from M1 Modular, 2 full coil over systems from The Suspension Source, a full season race pass from the folks who run the Modern Street Hemi Shootout series, a 50% discount of any Mishimoto high performance cooling product, Apple TV’s, a $500 Canadian Tire gift certificate, Dodge ballcaps, 2 large Demon banners and some other Demon swag, from LXForums, for the mancave or garage and a whole lot more!
Remember that this event is open to both modern and classic Mopars. There will be BBQ food service on site and Brampton Fire Services will have trucks on site so the kid in all of us can check out the equipment they use on a daily basis (last year they pulled a truck out of the ditch at our event í ½í¸Š)
This is shaping up to be the biggest event yet so if you haven’t registered, please do so at https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/5ce57b2ce6994a7a9e9bb6f74585a7ec. Just by registering, you’ll have a chance to win a pretty cool clock provide by Ginger’s Automotive Creations. The draw for the clock will be held at the event and the winner must be present.
That’s’ it for now. There will be a couple more updates in May related to the complete list of supporters and donations and also around the raffle rules.
Spread the word â€" the 2018 www.gtalx.ca event is fast approaching!

Hello everyone! I can’t believe we’re down to 11 days! The weather is looking promising as well. Remember this is a rain or shine event and there is covered space at the park in case it does rain a bit.Just a note to let you know about the raffle and food details. Raffle ticket pricing will be the same as in previous years. Tickets will sell for $5 for 3, $10 for 10, and $20 for a yard. The folks at Peel Children’s Aid Society (PCAS) will have a debit/credit machine on site for ticket sales but best to bring cash as well in case technology fails. 100% of funds raised through raffle ticket sales are donated to PCAS. We hope to surpass last year’s total of $3100 raised. The BBQ food service will only accept cash. The prize draws will start at 2pm. Basically the rules are:- Winner has to be onsite to claim a prize- Prizes have to be accepted as awarded- Prizes cannot be exchanged- Winners will have to provide their name and either a phone number or email address. This is so the people/organizations donating the prizes can reach out to follow up on the donation if they choose to.- If a ticket is drawn and the ticket holder does not immediately claim the prize, that ticket number and prize will be held until the end of the schedule draws. If the ticket winner still hasn’t claimed the prize, a new draw will occur for that prize.- Prize listing subject to changeNow for the good stuff…below is a partial list of the donations you can win at the event. Good morning everyone! What a beauty day here in the GTA! I hear parts of NFLD are getting ready for 20cm of snow...yup...you heard that right!Anyway, I wanted to let you know that the annual GTALx event, which started as a meet for cars built at Brampton Assembly, has evolved to include many more MOPAR makes and models now, both modern and classic. That being the case, it's time for an event name change. No need to submit suggestions now. The post event survey will be asking for ideas but just keep this in mind, start thinking of event names and be ready to submit your suggestions.Thank for your time and have a great day!

#18 ·
I will also fill out survey but I'd like it out there that I personally think the event name should remain the same, and why. Events everywhere have there localized name, which to me attracts people from all over. GTALX has some form of history to it, I say keep it.
I've been to meets all over and it's the history and uniqueness that I enjoy of each one. One of the biggest and best is the Spring Festival of LX's in California, remember too, LX is only the first generation of these cars, there are, for example, LC's and LD platforms.
KEEP the name GTALX.

Hello folks, well I can’t believe the event is almost here! Registration is now closed with 182 registered after duplicate entries removed. This will be the last update before the event. Regarding parking, as we have a record number of cars registered to attend this year, parking space will be allocated quickly and efficiently and that being the case, we are not going to be grouping cars together because people have requested to be grouped (i.e. all Challengers, Magnums, Hellcats and/or Demons in their own area). When you arrive, you will be directed to a location to park. If you want to park together with your group or friends, please arrive as a group. Please follow the directions of the parking volunteers. Trucks and Jeeps will be parked on grass. Also, please note that all non-MOPAR vehicles will not be allowed to park on the event site (event staff/vendors exempt). They will have to park a half kilometer up the road and walk into the primary site so if you have family members coming in a different car and it’s not a MOPAR vehicle, you will have to have them park at the alternate lot and bring them in the MOPAR vehicle. Again, this is to ensure that we have enough space for all MOPAR owners attending.

Please drive safe to and from the event and please respect the park grounds while at the event.
Have a great week and see you on Saturday!

Hi folks! If you attended the GTALX charity event last Saturday, would you mind filling out the survey at the link shown in the post below?
https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/420805728df1444db5a54aec5f525636
It was a hugely successful day, with 193 cars raising $4,000 for Peel Children's Aid. Thanks to all who attended. Filling out the survey will give us an idea of how much the event was enjoyed this year as well as help us make improvements to next year's event. Thank you.

Pics to follow soonest.
