Hi folks, I'm very excited now that we have started planning for GTALX 2016. As mentioned in the other registration thread, the event will be held at Heart Lake Conservation Area again, on Saturday May 28, 2016.

This thread will serve to provide information on prize donations and raffle rules, exhibitors, hotel discounts and any other information not directly related to registration.
You can indicate if you can attend the event here - http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php/378582-Gtalx-2016

We will update this thread as required and as progress is made.

We want to thank in advance, all attendees and families who will be making the time to attend - we won't dissapoint you. Folks, if anyone is interested, in the spirit of fundraising and making the GTALX event website more visible, I've created some decals which will be sold at the meet and proceeds after costs will be donated to Peel CAS. While I realize the design might not be everyone's cup of tea, they will be available at $5 for one or $4 each for two or more.

Available colours are white, black, red, blue and silver.

Again, all proceeds after costs will go to Peel CAS.

For those that are interested in viewing an instrument cluster face change and lit needle installtion, Black Cat Custom Automotive will be swapping my cluster face at GTALX 2016. This will be the last piece to my switch lighting conversion to red. The cluster face will be backlit in red and the EVIC display will also be red and I've been told that the EVIC display in red will be clearly visible in daylight (which was a previous challenge).

16 days!!!!

Ok folks, 15 days to go until GTALX 2016 and May 28 is THE date now. The rain date reservation has been released. Let's hope we get the weather that is forecasted based on historical data.
A few notes to remember…

  • BBQ food and ice cream service is cash only
  • Raffle tickets can be purchased using debit/credit but bring cash in case of issues with the terminal.
  • NO ATM's ON SITE
MOST IMPORTANT - The site is a conservation area and we want to be able to continue to book annually it so please, resist the urge for burnouts while on park grounds.

See you'ze there!!

Burnouts on grass or gravel wouldnt b smart anyways lol

Any idea what will be available for the kids, besides ice cream? My two girls will need to burn off some energy as they aren't
quite as enthusiastic about cars as their daddy!!! Plus it will help me to get them to go quietly if there is something they can relate
to besides ice cream LOL

There will be face painting and there is a playground one parking lot before the main lot. Being a conservation area, they could also go on a trail hike if they wanted to. With an adult of course. My 9 year old daughter will be there as will some other young kids. We'll keep them entertained.

Sounds good, just wanted to let my girls know what to expect. Thanks BryGuy!

10 days to go folks and the weather is looking great!!
This will be my last post here on this event (I need some downtime) so a few IMPORTANT notes/reminders…please read.
1 - bring cash for food and any swag that GTALX vendors might be selling (e.g. decals, hats, shirts, etc.)
2 - there will be a POS debit/credit terminal for raffle ticket sales only but bring cash in case it goes down.
3 - bring a lawn chair (and hat and/or sunscreen) - you'll have lots of green space to choose a spot to plant yourself.
4 - if you have any parts you want to sell, bring them.
5 - event site is on the map at www.gtalx.ca
6 - The event starts at 10am and cars arriving early will be staged at the pic-nic site entrance (not to be confused with main entrance) at which point volunteer parking staff will direct you to your parking space. Please follow their directions. (The star on the map indicates the event site - click on the star and just behind the car in the pic is the beginning of the staging area)
7 - contrary to what the event website indicates (correction to be made shortly), the first raffle draw will be held at noon. This should give everyone ample time to arrive, park, stake their piece of green space and purchase tickets. There will be 2 or 3 other raffle draws (multiple prizes per draw) throughout the day.
8 - Remember that all raffle ticket proceeds will be donated to Peel Children's Aid Society and we have some awesome raffle prizes!! A "big cheque" presentation of funds raised will happen after the last series of draws, which will start around 2pm.
9 - after the event, please take the time to provide your feedback via email - gtalxfeedback@gmail.com. Your feedback is important to ensure that future GTALX events are successful.

We hope that everyone enjoys the event. This should be the best GTALX event to date!

Until May 28 - Peace!

Hi folks, here is a link to a GTALX 2016 attendee survey. You can complete the survey before or after the meet but please only complete the survey once.
I've adjusted so everyone can see where people are coming from when you enter your data - someone coming from Illinois?? :)

You can also add a pic of your ride if you want.

I hope you'll participate and look forward to seeing everyone next weekend!
