Small repair situation... or a big one?

Hey my fellow broski's... thought I would ask here before I posted anywhere else and was wondering if anyone of you guys may know.
Today I noticed two puddles of antifreeze on the ground after driving. I inspected the vehicle at my friends shop today on the lift and could not determine the cause of the leak from under except that it is coming from the back engine compartment. Now because my vehicle is a 3.5 it was difficult to determine the cause because of the intake phelum on top. So I decided to check the passenger compartment and felt the inside rug and sure enough it was soaked and from my understanding that may be a heater core malfunction.. but not sure. So I began looking for the leak on top again and found that there is a long tube that connects from the antifreeze reservoir and runs to a plastic piece under the intake phelum on the drivers side and saw some drops dripping from a plastic piece from the neck that the tube connects to.
So after reviewing the engine intake parts pdf I saw that there is a piece called a heater feed tube part number 04792185AC so i may need to order this part, but before I do, my question is... would this cause the passenger interior to become wet even though the defective part is on the drivers side? Or do i have two problems? Thanks for your help!

43 views and no one has the slightly clue or suggestion LOL! Decided to change the core and replce the tube. Cost 175.00 for the Core and 101.00 for the Tube.. smh. Wish me luck!

Well after more testing... seems the water that was on the passenger side, was from the carwash on Sunday. I took the cowl off from under the glove box and removed the door sill and pulled back the rug and plastics & there was no antifreeze or dry deposits anywhere on the blower motor or housing unit. The the cowl and back firewall and even rug was bone dry. Everything was clean and dry as a whistle on the wall, except for the rug that is closest to the passenger seat. So the core has been ruled out. Thank God!! Heat & AC work fine and no fogging or condensation on the windshield developes. So after I did that, I called a couple of Dodge Dealers and an associate of the club who works for Dodge and he said they DIDNT HAVE THE PART (heater feed tube and core) at his location because its unavailable.. So I went to a local dealer to at least pick up the mopar antifreeze and was going to place the order and he stated that there was one dealer who had. I asked and he said Star!! MY LUCKY DAY!!! So I jumped in and went to Star and got my Heater Feed Tube! Wooo Hoooo!!
So now I started the work of removing the phelum and took some pics of the problem... you can clearly see where the leak is coming from as there is a small gap on the neck. So tomorrow I'll have to drain the system, remove the fuel rail, remove the intake and install the new piece! Better this than having to take apart the dash!!! Anyone know a good place since things are coming off to port and polish! LOL!! Thanks for the help my fellow broski's, I appreciate it! ~~OPG!!

@ Da Animal...It seems to be turning into a project now... lol!!

@aali... TY, just glad I got it because it's a hard to get item.

So today I removed the fuel rail and lower intake manifold after running to the stealership to get o-ring seals for the injectors.. As I was there I decided to just re & re all the gaskets & o rings instead of reusing them. Then I said what the heck... rathers well also do the valve covers and spark plug seals aswell. I got home and then degreased some parts and used high heat paint for some pieces to make the 3.5 l engine bay look a little better.

Sorry Paulie... I know I was supposed to link up with you but i got caught up..... trying to finish the job tomorrow so I can get back to work!!

Hey MTA... sorry for not responding. Yeah, as you can see I decided to do it myself, beats paying between 5-8 hundred bucks. Besides I'm more of a DIY guy. Tomorrow I need to get the upper radiator hose installed.. flush the engine and check for leaks. Then she'll be on the road again and will put on some flowmasters.. Thanks to paulie.
