Planning to add some Nitrous to the Scat Pack...

I've gone through 1000s of pounds of nitrous in the past, all shoved down the throat of an LS motor.
Whether it was the LS1 or LS6 manifold, there were no real concerns with distribution or puddling when spraying a wet shot.

Now that I am thinking about doing this on my 392, this intake has me asking questions. How is the distribution? Are there puddling concerns with the moving parts?
I have no intention of plumbing the manifold, so spraying at the throttle inlet is the route I will be going.

Looking for feedback from others who have sprayed the 6.4 with any regularity, possible issues to look out for, etc.

Thanks!

I've noticed a big change in my voltages too since the weather got cooler.

Jay's got me running so rich, it's turning my tips brown. If I don't open the garage before I remote start, I almost need SCUBA gear to get around and in the car lol

They work fine at the track in that weather.
They need a decent burnout, but from there they work awesome.

Haven't been back since the 12.1, going back tonight, got some awesome air.
It was about 53° when I cut the 1.77 60' on my last pass. Theres more in it once I figure it out.

Nothing better in a Diablo tcm tune??? Not sure I would even take the plunge on A Itunes with these results. Live with a stock tuned scat and a warranty. No reason to move forward looking at those log screenshots.
Mike I would love to see something better. Hope you get it worked out and post up the results.
Thanks for providing the info

We were hitting the TCM limiter on the shifts. This car is an in house R&D vehicle, We get to see what doesn't work on my car before everyone else tries it :)
Its the side effect of the company paying for part of the car, so no complaints here. Also means I get more attention from the calibrators than some of the other guys with personal vehicles ;)

As of the latest TCM tune, its shifting super fast, as it should.

18 PCMs are different and cannot be swapped for 15-17 unfortunately.

When you say super fast, do you mean faster than the .4 second shifts we've been seeing?

So, Based on HerHemi saying the shifts on the Nag were .4 each...I decided to look at my last log again.

In track mode at the strip, my TB is staying open on shifts and each shift event is .2, not .4.

Who knows what I was looking at lol

Mike's shifts are in Sport mode mine are in Track. He has issues with the 2-3 shift in track, mine never has.

I did notice a .2 second difference in event times and he's got a funny blip in RPMs during the shift. I'd like to see a shot of it since he's remedied it.

Yeah, I'm seeing as little less than .2 now.
The previous tcm tune was custom and causing some of the issue....I'm currently running the same canned tcm tune everyone else gets and its perfect ;)
We do want to raise the shift points a bit so we'll be experimenting with that again, as it was shifting at 6500 on the previous tune.

Started my endeavor a few days ago. Trying to do this one handed us a real PITA!!! Any how , got the bottle installed and drilled for the blow down. Next free time I'll get most of the threat done. Still gotta order plugs.

Anyone have thoughts on the psn1 from innovative? Or any other control/safety/gage/progressive recommendations?

Make sure that bottle is mounted right with tube facing the right way so when you go it picks it up..i had it that way never seemed right so i changed it to go front to back.

You may be able to rotate the whole valve slightly. Blow down tube is probably aluminum and can be bent by hand. Or just keep the bottle full with a smaller shot and it’ll probably be alright. You’ll see it in the afrs when it’s not happy anymore.

I tried all that moving crap..lol it didnt work that great imo i moved the bottle the other way...valve facing the motor dont have to worry about the tube which way it sits because once your in motion the nitrous flows to the back regardless ....

Hey Mike. I've got a buddy looking at getting NOS on his 392 SuberBee. How did your experience go? Did you need to get a dyno tune?

#77 ·
Well, funny story. I never installed it.
Never found the time. Even reached out to a coupe local shops to get an install quote and nobody got back to me :(
Lease is up in a week, Ally gave me an extra month due to COVIdemic, and I'm on the hunt for a Hellcat.

All that said, I'll feel a little better about spraying the 6.2 if that comes to fruition :)

Dyno tune should not be necessary, but if no wideband, cant hurt to put it on a dyno to see what the AFRs look like with the recommended jetting, etc.
Can pull timing at WOT pretty easily to account for the tune changes.
