Wow I have ben gone for a bit.. why do u have the 82nd emblem on your pocket, is that new with the Blue uniform.. grrr I need to get a new DA photo when I get back for my board also.... I worked with 2-10 for the past 3-4 months.. and 2-82nd before that I prefer the 82nd over them.

The Emblem is the "Combat Patch" for the New "Army Service Uniform" notice there are no shoulder unit patches I hate it. As for why the 82nd, Well when I got my "Blues" ready for photo they were still so new that the EOD "Bomb" Combat badge was not available yet (or any others Im authorized besides 1st Cav and 82nd). I hate "Worst Cav" more than 82nd so I took the lesser of 2 evils.

Took me forever to find a few pics of me...jeeze. :) These were taken less than a year ago.
So here I am, almost 20 years of service (soon to retire) Been x2 to Afghanistan. Units = 2ID Korea, 1st Cav, 101st, TRADOC and 82nd. Currently at Ft. Bragg and like it the best.
Here is a photo taken in Afghan, I am hunched over due to a bad back that happened while there.

this one is just before deployment (sorry no swoopy new blues). I am old I like greens. This was taken in case I died in Afghan. that way the Army could publish a good photo of me. (Jeeze thanks)

This is 18 years ago.....geez. Oh yeah, that's my sweetie. Still married to her. Anyways, This was my first job rating (I had 3 in 8 years)...Weapons Technician. I worked on NUCLEAR BOMBS, no kiddin...really. Aircraft carriers carried 3 types on board until 1993. B53, B61, and the big mamma.... the B43 - 1 mega-ton. That last one would melt New York and Jersey.

For some perspective. "Little Boy" was the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945...about 15 kilotons.

Wow... Absolutely humbling thread.

Amazing that *anyone* could possibly think they could f**K with *our* boys in uniform and live. You guys look so kick a$$ it's amazing.

Words can't express how grateful this country is for your service and sacrifices.

I'm the only guy in my family that didn't fly in the Air Force. Eye glasses kept me out of it, and by the time they changed the rule, I was too old.

kinda hard to keep everything straight and squared away when wearing a sling... This was after a torn rotator cuff in Summer of 2008.

Got to meet Dennis Miller when he came to visit the Wounded Warriors at Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio TX.

My bay that I bunked in during Basic Training, Graduation Day... (yes there are a few girls in there... Co-ed Basic at Ft Jackson)

After Basic Graduation with my dad...

Wish I had more... Broke my back during a particularly rough PT session after being in only 16.5 months... 75lb Ruck, 3-mile run, one wrong step, 3 fractured vertebrae... Medically discharged after 2 years, 1 month, and 26 days of service...

One of these days I'll update my rack and get a pic of me in my greens the way they were supposed to be just before my discharge...

This is my most recent pic with me in my dress uniform. Once I get a new DA photo done, I'll post that also

Heres a couple from my last rip to Iraq. The last two are actually in/on top the facility that Chemical Ali used to gas the 20-30K Kurdish people not too long back..was very creepy in there. Ill have to get on my home PC to get pics of my Blues and whatnot.
