Avoid(!) epoxies...all (real) epoxies (including JB) will unacceptably soften as the engine temperature rises as the matrix goes through a glass transition phase (softening)...which can lead to disassociation (read as glue joint separation and ultimately failure).

    Hi Scott,

I'll assume you have all the pieces that can be refitted / adhered exactly as they broke. nothing will properly adhere to NYLON 6, however you can come close using Loctite Prism 410 (PN: 41045) thick liquid and Prism 454 (PN: 45440) gel. Use the gel to piece the parts together. Once that has cured, you can sand the surfaces using 220grit (or coarser) to create a surface which will more readily allow fiberglass cloth and the 410 (thick) liquid cyanoacrylate to adhere. Find some 4oz to say 6oz /sq/yd fiberglass cloth, cut larger than the repair area, place on the valve cover's surface and start wetting out the cloth with the cA. Use some throw-away tools (eg; popsicle sticks) to press down / spread the cA.

Be very careful of the cA fumes.

Hey Brother, I know you are a go to guy on here and I have a question for you.

I need some Eagle valve cover for my new heads. I have a guy that has a set but there is a hole on one corner of one cover. Do you know if an epoxy or something else could fix the hole permanently?

    Thanx

Yes I know I just read the entire thing on how u did it. I wish I was that handy to do that. But with the job and time I have, I wouldn't be able to do it. Is there any way I could get u to make this for me?

    Hi Dan,

Best to you and yours too :^)

No problem, either is fine. Keep in mind however slots / dimples / holes all take away braking force proportionally to the surface area being removed. In a street application, surface area far outweighs any gains from brake pad out-gassing that "might" be occuring. In other words, get what appeals to you visually in this case.

As to brake pads, again from a street-use POV; it's hard to beat the OEM pads. Lot's of aftermarket offerings, no need to get fancy. I'd suggst ceramics simply cause they produce less dust. They are not as aggressive as metalics though, but under the worst-case scenario (a panic stop) the ceramics will be adequate.

    merry xmas !
sorry to be a pain AGAIN, but would appreciate your advice .
would you go with slotted/dimpled rotors or slotted/drilled for a non -race upgrade ?
also which pad would you go with ?
    Thanks in advance

    hello simon,
    just tire kicking right now.
would you be interested in installing
    a/ a s/c on my 09 r/t or
    b/ a 426 6.1 based stroker ?
may say to heck with both and buy a392 or do nothing at all and build a Baldwin recreation.
like i said kickin tires at this point.
possible to get a BALLPARK price on each of these jobs ?

    Hi ???

No I don't, it was supplied to me already coated. Pretty straight forward to use some cardboard and produce your own though. Add to this I had to modify it to fit with the (ineffective) strut tower brace I employ :^)

    Regards

    simon
