    Magnum Sheet Metal Question

Does anyone know what kind of metal the Magnums are made from and its thickness gauge? I'm trying to do some welding on mine and it just keeps punching holes through it. I've set the welder to the lowest setting and it still just punches holes through it.

    My guess would be 18gauge.
And I guessing your using mig,
    What size wire?
Try using a copper backing plate.

I'm using .030 wire. I don't think it's 18 gauge. I'm using 18 gauge to weld to it and it's doing fine, but the body metal is melting away.

True, I had older stuff on my mind. Newer cars are more 22 gauge.
030 wire is to heavy, that’s max for 18gauge.
I would be down in the .023 range.
Only spot welding here, and use a backing/cooling bar as much as possible.
