Ok I'll probably catch flack for this question, but, ive got a few sets of SRT shorties laying around and on one of those long Monster fueled nights i thought about mating the shorties to a stock RT exhaust. Being ad the flanges are an inch different, could a person remove the studs in the shorties and move the mounting holes in 1/2 inch on either side? Would bolt up to the RT downpipes then. Obviously its cheaping out, but wondered if this has been done or if ita advisable...
Cut the flange off the 6.1 mids and weld to the 5.7 mids.
I put 6.1 shorties & mids on my 10 Challenger. Then mod'd the 5.7 Corsa cat backs to slip OVER the exhaust pipe so I could use the 5.7 exhaust. 6.1 is 2.75 ID and the 5.7 is 2.5 ID.
Well i dont have any 6.1 mids to do that to. Ive been searching the interwebs trying to find a suitable flange with no luck. Thats why i thought about drilling the header flange
Challenger to Challenger..... Yes. Charger maybe. Jeep no.
Just one mans opinion... Your mileage will very.
