Magnum Exaust

Thought I would post about my new exhaust, maybe it will help someone else.
I have a 2008 Magnum R/T AWD with 133,000 miles. For the past year or so I have been having an intermittent Check Engine Light with the corresponding P0420 and P430 codes. When the check engine light is on, the remote start does not work, nor does the Multiple Displacement System.

I started collecting information on what it would take to change the catalytic converters and O2 sensors.I settled on the Magnaflow 16421 as there is a good price on EBay. DO NOT get these mid-pipes as the do not fit the Magnum. I ended up with Magnaflow 51584 (right) and 51585) as these are direct OEM replacements. They cost almost twice what the 16421 does, but they fit.

While I was at it, I looked at the cat-back exhaust, as it was offered on EBay at $477.00 I purchased the MOPAR P5155960, which specifically states it will not fit the Magnum AWD, but it fits just like the original, and gives a bit more sound without drone.

Hello Steve.

I have an '06 Mag RT AWD with a P0430 code and decided to replace both cats and the 4 02 sensors so I can pass my NJ inspection due this month. Did you replace your exhaust yourself? I'm planning to do mine myself, on a set of ramps, and was looking for any tips/insight you (or any member) could share.

Thanks!

Anthony

IMO take it to a reputable shop to do the work...it will line up right and take them no time to do it...

My Hemi,

I would if it was an option... I just sent my 2nd kid off to college, and his school is 73K a year... PACE, NYC

I need to save as many pennies as i can. The 2 cats, 4 sensors, and 2 band clamps already set me back 1500.

I'm not new to wrenches, I just replaced the timing belt and water pump on my wife's PT Cruiser because, my reputable-go-to guy passed on it because its a PITA. (he was right, but I saved 1300 doing it) I just haven't done exhaust work and any tips/pointers work be a time saver.

thanks
Anthony

of course if anyone wants to donate 500 to the cause, I'll take it right over to my guy (and keep my 52yr old back off the ground :p)
