    Front End Repair Costs:

Typical with these cars, I'm getting clunking from the front end.

Just curious what kinda money is involved if major replacements is necessary,

Pretty sure ima need time rods, wheels wiggle left to right. No up & down so I'm hoping ball joints are ok.

Just swapped my struts for Billsteins & my sway bar links.

I think the bill was around $2,500 for all tie rods, tension struts and control arms. All oem. Well worth it for a new front end.

The lower ball joint is not easily replaceable so I may tackle that next year.

From what I've researched in depth on here and other forums, for the LX cars, one area that causes clunking that is often overlooked are the sway bar bushings. If everything else looks tight, it's probably these; 2 bolts on either side to R & R these bushings and they probably cost less than $30, and easy to get at. I'm expecting to replace mine in the next few weeks. My front end and suspension are all tight, nothing anywhere has any play; I just replaced front hub & bearing assemblies and front brake pads and everything ELSE is nice and tight, and two shops said everything in the front end looked good...so the only thing left that could be causing the clunking are the sway bar bushings. Maybe replace those first, you could save yourself a whackload of dough.

$2500 is a steep price to pay.

I’m going through a front end rebuild on my ‘06 R/T now, total cost in parts is under $500.

All oem parts? Actually the price was just over 2k, I dug up the quote. Worth every penny to drop off the car and get a brand new front end in return!

    Front End Repair Costs:

All Moog parts, which are at, or in a few cases, a little more than OEM.

If you want cheap, entire imported front end kits are under $300 (I wont touch these).

I’m not paying $2000 to install $400 worth of parts when its not a difficult job.

$2k for a front end rebuild is a ripoff.

My parts came in at about 800, which is included in the 2k. Worth every penny to me and I don't have a rack to properly load and torque everything, then align it as well. I hate doing suspension work on the floor.

All Moog parts, my list came out to $520 for my front end rebuild.

    I do stuff like this:

So I am typically a total asshat when it comes to what a lot of mechanics charge.

That said, with the above project going on (The Demon Chronicles - Home | Facebook), there are times I just don’t have the room in the garage for, so I’ll get a local guy to do, and I bitch about it for a week or so.

I was around $1500 but I put in Petty Garage sway bars, Koni shocks/struts and H&R Lowering springs as well as replace every piece with MOOG. Only part I didn't use MOOG on was the ball joint on the spindle. I took the spindle to a local tire shop that said they could press them out. Went and bought NAPA premium ball joints and had those pressed in. I ended up spending more money later to buy adjustable upper A arms and the idiot alignment shop didn't use those and instead charged me a fortune to put the lower camber bolts in. I also put in F1 Fabrication adjustable upper links in the rear to fix the negative camber. It really depends on how crazy you want to go and how much you do yourself. The only thing I had done was the alignment. I did everything else on my garage floor with ramps and a jack and jack stands.

I only have 30K on my car and zero front end issues.

My only front end clunk was tightening the front crossbar bolts, but I did remove them during my build.
