Hi all,
I spent 5+ hours today attempting to get the 6.4 tti biscuit style mounts with stock insulators to mount in my 1969 road runner k-member. I did modify the drivers side mount per tti's instructions and was able to mount it twice (meaning bolt through the mount, but the passenger side is a nightmare and sits apx 1" above the k member bolt holes. I tried to shimmey it down towards the hole but it won't go because then it kick up the driver side mount. I feel like ive been in an episode of the Twilight Zone this afternoon.
I then unbolted the driver side mount in order to try and get the passenger side on the bolt but it just wouldn't line up. I then removed the passenger side biscuit mount from the motor and mounted the stock insulator to the passenger side k frame with the hope of then ever so slowly lowering the motor low enough where I could install the (4) bolts onto the biscuit and then to the mount. But no it's still off like 1 inch horizontally on the motor, its as if the biscuit was made incorrectly, or else I'm just messing this up.
Is this a common issue for a '69 RR w/stock K-member, no ac. Obviously I'm a bit frustrated as it took less than 5 min to jack up the motor and place it in the engine bay, and then 5+ hours to try and align (2) bolts argggggg.
Here are a few photos of when I tried to mount the motor w/biscuit to the k-member, and then when I removed the biscuit and attempted to mount the motor to the biscuit mounted on the k-member.
What am I doing wrong and how can I resolve this?
Thanks guys.
