To consolidate a bunch of good info from a bunch of different threads, here's what you need to know about buying replacement lugnuts for your LX. I mainly focus on the Gorilla brand, because they offer more options that work, and they're readily available.

The first post has all the specs you need to know, with part numbers for the various options, and the second post will address all the previous concerns that have been raised, one at a time.

Here are the important specs:

Lug Nut Seat Style: Conical seat
Thread Size: 14mm x 1.50 RH
Conical Seat Taper: 60 degree
Conical Seat Type: Bulge

Here are some examples of Gorilla lugnuts that will work on LX's:

- These are all the same length (1.40"):
Gorilla 91147 (Chrome, 13/16 hex)
Gorilla 41147 (Chrome, 3/4 hex)
Gorilla 91147SS (Stainless Steel, 13/16 hex)
Gorilla 91147BC (Black Chrome, 13/16 hex)
Gorilla 91147HT (Chrome, heat-treated, 13/16 hex)
Gorilla 91148 (Same as the 91147, but priced individually)
Gorilla 61147 (Lifetime Finish, 13/16 hex)

- These are longer (1.90"):
Gorilla 91147XL (Extra long, Chrome, 13/16 hex).

- Open-ended (1.0"):
Gorilla 90048 (Open-ended, 13/16 hex, priced individually)

Here's the best price we've ever found for the Gorilla 91147 (91148): http://www.brandsport.com/grla-91148.html (91¢ each when you buy 20)

Here's the Gorilla Numbering Convention:

You need one long enough so the stud does not bottom out when tightening or you won't get the wheel tight. I have seen them almost 2" long and they stick out from the wheel, kida looks funny to me LOL

Thank you for clarifying this for me Junior. :thumbs_u:

61148ch

I still have a set of wheels and tires I run my stock lugs with - until today. Apparently one got cross threaded during a tire rotation, and became difficult to work with, so forget you.

I also ordered 60 (thanks Stell) and will have some extra.

I found these black chrome locking Gorilla lug nuts. Qty. 20
PN Gorilla 71643NBC

There are also these locking lugs from Gorilla, PN 96641BC, qty. 4.
Or these regular black chrome PN 91147BC, as stated previously.

I'm getting one set of 96641BC and four of 91147BC for $49.33 shipped off Amazon.

Just offering another lower priced alternative to the Gorillas. I've had 2 sets of these in the past, one on each prior Magnum, and they seem to be the same specs as the Gorilla nuts, Chromed steel. and they're only $24.70 including shipping (to me)

WOW!!!! If those are the same as Gorillas and you can get a set of 20 for that price shipped that's GREAT! The Gorillas are a lot more expensive. Bob.

There's no way in hell I'd recommend anybody use the 91147's (on the left).

This lug nut didn't bottom out but didn't seat fully on my stock SRT rims either.
How do you know they didn't seat? They're at least the same height as stock, so unless they have waste material in the inside or something, they should seat fine.

I'd be more irritated at the paint or powdercoat that's on the mating surface (unless it's just anodized).

But apart from that, there's no reason I can see that those wouldn't work just fine. It's already been established that you don't neat a seat area as wide as the cheap stock lugnuts have, in order to make a proper mating surface.

This **** is ridiculous. I'd like to know what the problem is that so many lugs are listed as matches but clearly are not.

where ya been Jay... lol... and as an FYI Gorilla states that the 91147 are not to be use on our cars... if you guys used with no issues that's great but I never installed th because of the seating issue.

oh 13/16 Jay... even factory lugs start out as that

13/16 = 21mm. So it drops a size as the factory's on my Challenger are 22mm. Thats cool because I have a special 21mm socket for wheel lugs.

When did Gorilla come out against the lugs? I bought then 6 years ago and did not look back. They don't cause any issue with the rim and seat just fine.

No... 61147 and 61148 are the preferred part IMO; these are indeed the same size as the factory lug INCLUDING the size of the seat. The poster above said that about the 91147. Here's a vendor who says they (91147) are not to be used on factory alloy LX or LY wheels and may need a special seat. These guys point LX owners to the 61148: http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/GOR91147BC.htm . No offense to those who recommend these and who I respect otherwise, but after all the years of this thread I still don't understand why the correct part is not being recommended for such a critical application. I know, I know; they work fine for you and Joe down the street said it's ok... but man.

What's wrong with the 91147? It looks just like the 61147 but OEM style with the SS cap. What am I missing?

And this one looks line my 61147s but is not the lifetime unit.

BTW I have the 61147 which looks like what is on the left in your photo as a 91147.
