Well this isn't looking good for me I gave the Mercedes dealer the part no. that is listed above for the blue top solenoids and this is what He got in and sent me a pic. of and I have to buy them, and his answer was they might have changed the color of that piece, but he said it was the same exact part no. that is listed above, here is a pic. of what he has for me...

#37 ·
That Mercedes Parts man called me back and told me I the part no. on the solenoid was different from what's on the packages so he said if I can get a no. from one of those blue tops and it's different then I will not have to pay for them, so any one got one laying around lol well thanks for any help...

#39 ·
Man I wish it was that easy but I had to give them a credit card to get them to order them, and he made me a good deal on them, thanks for the suggestion..

#43 ·
If it clearly is not the product you paid for then tell their management that you will file a claim with the Better Business Bureau on them for breach of a sales agreement. You agreed to pay for the Blue Tops not the Brown one you have pictured.

#44 ·
If I could jest get some part no. from a blue tip then he will not make me pay for them, he says the no. on the package matches the one I gave him but the no. on the solenoid is different, and he's not sure if they should match,

#45 ·
Well I got out of having to pay for those pressure solenoids had to go over the guys head to get it done, but they were surely not the right one, so I'm on the look again, guess I will use whatever source you guys might recommend, thanks for any help and support...

#46 ·
Well you could call SHR 1-866-BIG-HEMI on Monday. Yes you will pay more BUT you are guaranteed to get the right part and tech support with any questions about install to operation. If service is worth a few bucks then give them a call

hey Chuck// here is the part numbers I have on the box of the mercedes BLUE TOPS.

A240 270 00 89

my brown tops have this number on them: A140 277 03 09 - these are the one you already have.

seems like your parts guy doesn't know what he is doing.

you should pm dwhip he has a set possibly for sale.

will the blue tops cause any weirdness with the ECM? have heard diff things on this topic.

#53 ·
^^^ No. "If" you change both as you should then the ECM doesnt know the difference. The variations that have issues are either trying to use a valve body mod, silver box, or some other mod/device in conjunction with the blue tops. The blue tops work great all by themselves and there are plenty of folks that can attest to that fact. They work all the time everytime

We acknowledge your prowess for finding exceptional deals; however...it would be significantly more valuable to your loyal readers if you took a moment and elected to share some more details...

#58 ·
The blue tops strengthen the transmission.Brown are rated for up to 500 hp, blue 700 hp. Believe the M5 uses the blue.

#59 ·
Not necessarily strengthen the transmission. They greatly increase shift pressures and reduce slip. But it not going to allow the transmission to hold 700hp for very long.

From SLR 722 Transmission Solenoids Valves - MBWorld.org Forums

SLR 722 Transmission Solenoids Valves

As I suspect is commonly known, the current part numbers for the E55 and Maybach 722 transmissions solenoid and pressure control valves are now the same (A 240 270 01 80 & A 240 270 00 89). However, the same valves for the SLR 722 transmission are different (A 240 270 00 80 & (A 240 270 02 89.

Anybody know anything or am I going to be the guinea pig?

Parts .com shows two different trans pan gaskets under that part #.
One for Porsche and one for Mercedes at two different prices. Which one do I need for a dodge charger srt8?
