Check out our Jacksonville Cruise-In thread.
Some of us will be at the Krystal on Merrill Road this, the 1st Saturday of the month (March 1st).
It's a monthly event open to all makes, models, and years. Usually, a pretty large turnout.
On March 8th, the Foodlion in Fruit Cove is very well attended. That's a bit closer to you. But you better be there no later than 4:30pm to find a parking spot (4:00pm might be the best bet).
sssrt8,
There is a cruise-in at Fruit Cove (Food Lion) this Saturday late afternoon.
That cruise-in usually has a large turnout.
I plan to make it there this Saturday.
Maybe I'll see you there.
Describe your car.
Okay guys: Check the first page to see if anyone has been left off the roll call list.
We're up to 18 and need to get to 20 (if for no other reason than to get 20, of course).
I see North Chapter southern border as all counties south of the counties of St. Augustine and Gainesville and westward. (other opinions/suggestions are appreciated and welcome)
If we of the North Chapter decide to have two divisions within our chapter, I suggest a starting discussion point could be of the division-line being I-75.
North Chapter director, what will the task be now for that position if we split the chapter into 2? will we have 2 directors?
if we stay with one chapter, 2 divisions, will divisions have their own representatives and will the structure stay the same? or will we have to redesign said structure?
sorry for the questions i just want to make sure
i think that if you do decide to divide and keep the chapter the same(ie North Chapter - East/West division) will be fine which will keep the same director in control of their chapter, and then perhaps the director can form a committee of 2 members that would be happy to take the role of representatives(one for each division ) where each representative with the tasks given by said director, will make things easier than having 2 directors/chapters...IMO it would be like having 2 chiefs doing the same thing in the same chapter.......in ways that might be easier but then it might confuse/or constrict the actual attempt in making things easier
summary
North Chapter Director(this position would over see both reps....)
East Rep
West Rep
once the decision has been made, we should consider motion to address the board with the proposal, once it passes with the board, we can sit down and start structuring the divisions as needed, if needed.....
im gonna sit here with my popcorn now......opcorn:
I hope that we all understand that the adoption of a new Chapter would need to be brought before the Board before it could be official.
What I am trying to determine is the feeling/ideas of the North Chapter members.
The FLXC must keep in mind that Jacksonville (out greatest concentration of members) is as far (miles) from Pensacola as it is Miami. Simple logistics begs that the questions be asked.
It is easy to see that Orlando is as central to the Central Chapter as Panama City is to the NorthWest Florida (Division or Chapter).
Having a North Director is just on paper anyways, so I think there needs to be 2 goto guys, 1 in the East and 1 in the West. If you think a governing director is necessary then so be it but I don't think so. This is just the goto guy anyway. This will need to be discussed and the by laws changed for the State of Florida. This in no way is a political or power issue, just the State requirements.
The Northeast chapter will always be in charge of ALL CheeseCake and that is that. The Northwest division has been charged with a capital crime now anyway, by hording the left over Cheesecake!! Punishment will be let down SOON! The crime was committed and can not be taken back or ammended.
